Perhaps I need to re-emphasize the word EMPTY
There is a big difference between doing 110 on the highway, and having some fun in a deserted parking lot. You screw up your car, it's your problem, and it's an easy one to fix. No one else is affected at all. You kill someone on the highway because you're doing Double the limit or weaving back and forth through traffic trying to show off for a camera.... you've got some huge problems. Think about it.... Theres a difference between fun and messing around or shear stupidity and total disregard for others.

Boilermaker1, nicely said.

I did this stuff sunday night in alot with to other civs (2000 Si, 99 EX), a turbo jetta, 4.0 ranger, eclipse and a camaro. Only the parking lot wasn't covered in snow or rain lol. Lotta noise from the tires screaming. I have to say, my firestones were a shitload louder than everyone else's that night, lotta fun though, i'll have a video soon, pm me if you want the clip (bout 3-4 min) lata

Personally I don't like ABS. To me, who cares if I can turn the wheel, that's no good if I can't stop/break the car! Correct me if I'm wrong, but ABS prevents the wheel from locking, thus allowing you to turn the wheel, ableit at the cost of breaking distance?

A person who relies on ABS is too confident, in fact ABS has a longer stop distance... if you can control yourself in a panic stop it's all that counts... practice learning to stop the car from a high speed(not extreme) without skidding, that was my first lesson when i got into my dad's car

Not in all cases. An ABS system keeps the wheels at the outer limit of traction throughout the whole stop. If you really know how to work a non-ABS brake to avoid locking it up, you can probably do about even with a ABS system. If you are like 90% of people, an accident situation reflexively make you slam the brake leading to a loss of control, and at worse, a skid. Granted there are weird cases for loose gravel and snow where locking the wheels forms sort of a wedge with the gravel/snow to help the car stop, but the most common cases, rain/ice, it's far easier to execute a safe stop with ABS.

Can't disagree with the above advise to practice stopping in the wet. Take it to a parking lot and play around. If you're used to non-ABS, practice slamming as hard as you can on the pedal and resist the temptation to pump when the vibration kicks in.
