I just briefly read an article in the new motor trend (not that i trust motor trend) but anyhow, they put up the '03 accord 6-spd coupe up agianst some mercedes coupe (forgot the name sorry) anyhow the accord's price as tested was a little over $26,000. anyhow so I skipped to the spec's at the end. the 0-60 was around 6.4. and the 1/4 mile was 14.4.. it totally dominated the mercedes in performance. oh yeah the mercedes price as tested was like $50,000!! they say the handling could be better
it sounds like a pretty nice car. can't wait to test drive one myself

Also that's pretty good for the new Accord, though I had hoped that at least with the six speed it would be faster. Does anyone know what the CL Type S's run?

Rep Power: 0 yes the CLK320 that's the one! i've no idea why they tested them together? good point.. maybe they wanted to show you the more performance you can get with 1/2 the price.
does the CL-typ S come availible in a 5 or a 6-speed??

Rep Power: 342 I believe the CL-S is a 6-speed manual. My bro's is a 5-speed synchro. The CL-S runs a 15.0 @95.2mph. I don't personally like the styling of the new accords though, but then again, I haven't been impressed with the Mercedes I've ridden in/ driven either.

Rep Power: 0 y compare against the clk320, thats obviously slower... the new accords main competitor is the V6 altima which is around the same price range and performance.

Rep Power: 0 While I agree styling is a little this view is swaying me towards the Accord. 17" rims help and it looks a bit lower, however Civic ads show a much lower stance as well. But at $26,000 it looks like a bargain.
BTW: I owned a '89 T-Bird SuperCoupe (5-speed, 210HP/310lbs supercharged 3.8 V6, 4 wheel vented discs, factory lowered susp, factory JBL sound w/8 speakers plus sub.) that was an awesome car. They tested it against a BMW 630csi in several auto mags and it held it's own and in some cases out performed the Bimmer. And at 1/2 the price. It was however a little rough around the edges compared to it's more expensive rivals, but it was a Ford not a Honda. I'm sure the Accord is anything but rough

Rep Power: 0 The 0-60 time you stated makes no sense with that 1/4 mile time. If it does 0-60 around 6.5, the QT is going to be around 15.5.
Im not saying your full of crap, I just would like to read the article.
