I was browsing the member's ride section for fun when I can upon this member. On his page it says "sicsol's Comments:
GTech Meter = 142hp (flywheel) 16.3 @ 84mph .95 G's autoxing "
More proof of the inacuracte G-tech? You be the judge. (I'm talking about his hp rating, his 1/4 mile time seems accurate)

I think those base their HP rating off of the inputed curb weight of the car..... so if he entered that wrong then the rating will be wrong. A friend of mine has a custom 88 mustang GT that we ran with one of those meters, then he got it dynoed and the numbers were pretty close.

The GTech is good for timing, not really for speed. You're 0-60 and 1/4 times will be almost dead on what the track says, but the speed of the 1/4 will be off. For the HP, you need to account for everything in the car, Including yourself, and the gas in the tank. Otherwise it will think the car is lighter than it is, and give you a high reading.

If it thinks your car is lighter, wouldn't that make it show LESS HP? Because if you got the same time with a heavier car, then you would have more HP in order to get that time. Right?
