Last I heard we were supposed to be getting the Evo VIII instead. But, I haven't been following it too closely so I could be wrong.

We're not getting the VII but the VIII which looks a bit different. Also you can get a VII if you want for about $36000 including everything.

Originally it was the EVO VII that was supposed to enter our markets and was actually supposed to be released earlier this year. Naturally, it got delayed and I'm not sure what the new release date is, but because they're releasing it later, I believe they're just gonna wait it out and release the EVO VIII for our markets. Chances are it wont be as powerfull as the European versions, but I'm sure it'll have 250+ hp which is more than you'll need anyways. =)

Not 2004 but early next year is when the Evo VIII is coming out. Also it'll be pretty powerful so don't worry about that.

from what i've heard, it's going to the the VIII, with 256 hp supposedly. It's the VII in japan, but it's going to be the VIII here, almost the same thing overall, just a different front bumper and sligtly reduced power cause of all the things they had to do to it to make it legal over here.

There was an article on the Evo in (I think what is still) the latest issue of Road & Track. It said that the Evo VIII will be coming to the states in January 2003. The hp was about what someone already said... 250-300hp.
