just got screwd by the cops
I was on my way to go paintballing and i was late so i was speeding. I got pulled over and now i have 960 bucks worth of fines. I was cought 105 in a 55. There is nothing i can do right? Just wanted you all to know the cop says i was to fast for him. Good think they didnt find my Nx kit [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]. cuase i had it locked up in the back.

Rep Power: 0 homie.. that sux... did he get you with a radar gun or just the speedo?? did he write you up for anything else other than speeding?? a lot of these things have a factor??? how the heck did you get the fine already?? did you go to court yet ?? there are several ways to get the case dismissed... you just have to provide the info...

I do believe we have a case of Felony Speeding, which in most states, activates automatically when you more than double the speed limit. Hire a lawyer, you're going to need it, and stop speeding like that. I ever see you, I'll call the cops and follow you until they catch you, and hope they impound your car and take away your license. I speed, but no where near that act of stupidity you just did.

Rep Power: 0 105? there was noone on the road. Its not like i do it on city streets or anythign dont give me crap about hurt and this and that. the cop didnt even say that. The cop told me i need to look behind me so i dont get caught and that if i went a lil faster he couldnt catch up to me. and i'm not complaining i will pay the fines just wanted to let you all know. damn.....

Rep Power: 0 That's pretty fast. I got an 87 in a 65 a few months ago. I got lucky, the cop got me when I was slowing down to exit the freeway. I went to court by myself and talked to the D.A. and got mine reduced to 74 in a 65.
You are at 50mph over the limit in your case though. You definately need to hire an attorney. You should get about 20 solicitations from traffic lawyers in the mail over the next week or so. I would not go into court w/o legal representation. You're attributes will fry your **** in themselves.
Plus, a $1000 worth of fines. It will be well worth it to get a lawyer. A ticket that high will most likely at least double your insurance for the next 3 years and raise it by 50% for 2 yrs thereafter.
Just get a lawyer and let him/her handle it. You'll fry if you don't.

Don't listen to ppl that say..."shutup and pay the fine"...because thats rediculous....w/ the lawyer, you can have more say so w/ the judge, and maybe do some community service. 960 dollar fines are rediculous, and people learn better w/ community service anyway. Communitites need the help more than a cop needs the extra revenue for a new Viper or ss camaro.
