Need help on finding the right size for air pass valve

Hello everyone buying my AEM cold air intake and air pass valve from
www.aieonline.com. Have the intake selected but dont know what size valve I need to get, I have a 2002 Civic EX:

and the options are 2.5 inch, 3.0 inch and 2.75 inch. Here is the page with it http://www.aieonline.com/65/cat65.htm?616

Hi.. I ahve AEM CAI. One thing is that, the top pipe diameter is 2.5", while the lower pipe is 3". however, I am using a 3" by pass valve.. I dont think they have a by pass valve with 3" at one side, and 2.5" at the other side.

If there is not much rain fall or snow at your place, by-pass valve is not that necessary. ALSO, if you like the louder intake sound, don't put in the by-pass valve.. I tried it before with and without the valve. It sounds better without the valve.

Hey man it depends on where you want to put it. If you get it they suggest the closer to the throttle body the better so get the 2.5" However if I can make another suggestion.... don't get it. It's really not worth it unless you are a careless driver that drives through puddles all the time. I started out having one with the bypass valve but I've read from numerous sites on the net where people had their cars dynoed with the intakes with and without bypass valve that the bypass can at times negate the point of the intake. I bought a new one a month or so ago and there is a difference a little in performance but also in sound. I dunno it's a question of where you live I guess and how you drive. I live in northern Indiana and well the weather here can be really nasty but yet I've had no problems. Plus you save yourself like 40 bucks. Any questions PM or email me

your airfilter has to be completly surmerged in water for it to suck up water, if your filter is that far under water, you have bigger problems then hydrolock.
