Too slow?
I find it interesting that people here would trade in their car for something like an RSX Type S.
As that sense of "luxory" appeals to SOME people about the Type S who're 7th Gen Civic owners, I skimmed around ClubRSX.com and I discover from someone I actually had met in person before that their members are trading in their Type S for cars like a 350Z. Why? My guess is as good as yours. My first guess would be the limitations of a FWD car.
I wonder what people on a 350Z board are movin up to?
Guess it goes to show that your attitude and budget decide how fast you can go.

i think the main reason everyone is getting rid of their cars is because once you've driven your car for a while it gets to become unexciting. I remember the first week i got my car i was like wow a brand new car this is the coolest thing ever. No its like, time to get in the Civic again. And if you get bored of a car and want to trade it in, would you downgrade?
I wonder if there is any car that once you own it you never want to get rid of it??

Yeah, I feel you. But once someone's car becomes old like a Civic or RSX, the want to mod it. With all the support the Type S gets, you'd think having the car would be worth the $ you pay for (unfortunately, 23k compared to what else is out there for that price isn't worth it). Maybe people just get tired of dumping so much cash into a new car for performance that in the end, they just want a car they feel is perfect the way it is stock?
I know the car I want that I'll never trade or sell.

Trouble is, every few years, another amazing machine comes on the market...and then you get bitten by the trade-up bug yet again!!

i want to trade my civic for a rsx type s and if i got one i wouldnt trade it in because i wouldnt be able to afford anything else =] plus i love the type s my friends his dad has one and i love it
My girlfriend just got a 2k2 Accord EX-V6 sedan recently. I've been driving it so much though cause when we go out she likes me to drive usually. I've driven it more than my own car lately so now it practically feels like I'm driving my own... I think if I had a 2dr EX-V6 accord... I would be truly satisfied. There is just no reason (in my opinion) to really mod that car or anything. It comes stock with a NICE cd player, leather seats, and a decent and powerful engine. I could see doing a FEW things.... like tint obviously... and others. But for the most part, I would LOVE to have that car just as it is. Just my .02.

I am sorry but right now in my life, i just couldn't see buying a new car every year like some of these people are doing. They buy these new cars, mod them, then sell them and LOSE a crap load of money for a car that they will invest even more money into for a few seconds on the track. It seems silly. I bought my civic to last me through graduate school, and tho it isn't the fastest car in the world, i still like it. I just couldn't see buying a car, putting a lot of mods on it, then selling for a faster one. And the thing is, most of the people that do this, dont even pay much off the loan on their car. Like CivicchckEX, she sold her car and still owed 15k on it but had like 5k worth of mods on it!!!! Just my .02 cents.
IMO im more happy with my base auto than my Type S...its funny how I spent less than half of what I did on my Type S on my hatch, and I can eat Type S' and Type R's in it for lunch.
Seriously, I guess if you're going from a Civic, but really the RSX Type S really isnt that fast.

I believe the question was what would you trade up to?
Besides, I need to get out of college first. Wouldn't want door dings and bumper rash on a Ferrari.

well...I'm very pleased with my civic, but lately I've just been dissapointed at Honda, giving me many reason to trade it for something nicer...I've seen some other 7thgen's around here (which there aren't many) and the car looks menacing and fast, but when you get on the line is SOOOOOO SLOW!!!!!!!!!!! and I've just seen how in the market, Toyota is making and selling, faster cars and cheapers with the usual Toyota reliability...as well as Mazda (heard horror stories from Mazda but what the heck) and I just saw this new sports clio...2.0L 170HP hatch...damn, it was nice.... and it's a tad more expensive than the civic...and this things you can mod and expect a good decent HP increase rather than out meak D17....onlye good civic is the type R and it's just UGLY and expensive!! and we don't get those...I'm just waiting for the chance to trade my civic...for something else....gonna see what the new 2003 accord V6 measures up...I just got so very depressed when I got owned by a 97 jeep cheroke that cut me off and I tryed to catch...

That car.
I got into my 1990 Mustang LX 5.0 11 years & 1 month ago (almost to the day) and I
still have it. I've had one or two 'moments of weakness' where I considered selling it,
but it was not to happen! I don't think I'll be getting rid of it any time soon.
Now I have a 2001 Civic to keep the 5.0 company.
