How hard is it to pull a rental car off the dealer?

Ok, my car is going in tomorrow for the transmission bushings. With no car, I can't get to work, they said they'll need it at least 1 day. They said they have a shuttle, but that doesn't help, I work 55 miles from the dealer. So I told them I need a car. They told me that Honda doesn't provide rentals or loaners even for warranty repairs. First off, that's Bullsheit, if the damn thing is busted after 8600 miles (I got locked out of 2nd twice this morning alone), they ought to be bending over to fix it. So, How hard is it to get the dealer to pick it up? I figured I'd just go in there and give them an earful, but if not, tell me some stories about going off on the service department....
Last time I went off in the parking lot, I got an Accord V6 for 2 days and a free CD-Changer, but that's because they fawked up my car before I even drove it off the lot.

i think dealers here give it to you if its going to be in for more then one day or something. maybe it differs from dealer to dealer... also your dealers 55 miles away? where you do you work? in the middle of no-where? you do know that you could take the car to any dealer for service right?

The dealer that I go to gives rental cars to anyone who brings in their car for warranty repair. That's just their policy, but every dealer is different. Good Luck.

Tell them to let you borrow a used car. They have plenty on the lot, and generally the sales and finance guys are given "Demo's" that they should be able to lend out.

I live in the same city as the dealer. So they're like 15 minutes from my house, but I work in a small town that revolves around Orthopedic implants, which is what I do, so I am far away from the dealer when I'm at work. My choices are the dealer in Fort Wayne (where I live) or South Bend (also an hour drive). I don't have a choice.

They said they'll need at least a day to put in transmission bushings.. WTF is up with that, it should only take an hour or so.

Loaners are for Accord's owners and up... (civic owners are lowest on the food chain)

Base Accord = $15800
My Civic EX (with all taxes)= $17850
If you want to go by stickers, it was $19150

Not all Accords are higher in the food chain....

Weak? Ok, so what, it works. Take your mom and get her to go on about how her child's safety is at stake. Works every single time. (Unless you're like 30, then you're on your own)

Bro, I said Accord "owners".... They tend to be more MATURE than the civic "owners" (hence they GIVE more respect... and GET more respect from the service department) No dis-respect to you Boilermaker... Your 55 miles away... thats not the dealers problem you work so far away !
Peace...
