I should have over 200 with bolt on's
hehe well i wanted to know how much horse power i should have so i am putting up this post to see how much horses i really have....
*AEM Pulley ~10-15
* AEM Cam gear ~10-15
* Ignition Solutions' Plasma Direct Coil ~10-15
* Denso Iranium Spark Plugs ~10
* CAI ~10-15
* HP headers w/ high flow cat ~10-15 + high flow cat +~10
* 2' 1/4 custom catback mendrel bent with Focuz Exaust 10-15 + exaust +~10
i should have anywhere between 90 - 120 horse power on top of my 127... humm so i have about 217 to 247 horses to the fly wheel, and yet a RSX(not type S) can still smoke me... humm, i guess i am loosing about 100 horses from the fly wheel to the wheels... dam those people that sell us stuff should tell us the truth that we are only getting 3 horses from a exaust...

we had this discussion with 99vtec too. i think that is his screen name. he said he is pushing about 320 HP. but i would jsut love to see the dyno. never believe what the manufactures say they only say half that crap to make themselves look good.
I think with all that crap you'll spend more than $2000 and get between 20-50 HP... If you wanna go fast buy another engine... . Better yet BUY ANOTHER CAR..
Don't be fooled by what the manufacturer tells you the hp gains are def less than what they tell you.. half the hp if noot less

As I sit here and think of all the people out there that actually think they are getting 10 HP from an Intake and 15 from this and 10 for that it baffles me! I know you hondaluver at least REALIZE that this is a JOKE! But for those people like 99vtec (if thats there correct screen name) The only way you are going to be getting even NEAR 300 ponies is with F.I. of some sort either turbo or super. Even then you better have a BIG intercooler and a NX kit to freeze the air infront of the intercooler if not you aren't in the AREA of 300 or even close. I guess the big thing is
intake= very nice sound with some decent gain (not 10 though)
exhaust = good sound but unless you buy the right one you can actually lose low end torque
headers = best overall sound most overall HONEST gains but STILL not what they say it is.
iridiums = smoother running engine not a real noticeable gain
aftermarket coils = take the advertised HP and divide it in half thats your ACTUAL.
Overall these things are meant to make our cars sound and perform MODERATELY better. Don't go braggin that you can smoke things without ACTUALLY already have smoked them!
peace.....

thats why you get HP Headers with Hi flow cat plus get the venom 400 im pretty interested in that 25% increase in horsepower, anyone have this? I would really like to know before getting ripped off. Oh 4-2-1 Headers are the best for low end power which I will get, cuz my car sucks at take off
does anyone actually know if the horsepower they tell you is from where? The crank(most likely), flywheel(the crank with no flywheel has less interia), the wheels, or the SAE adjusted HP? anyone? Are there more places to measure from? Or do they just tell you the peak horsepower gains and not the overall gain of about 3?

*AEM Pulley ~10-15
* AEM Cam gear ~10-15 (3-5 horsies max gain)
* Ignition Solutions' Plasma Direct Coil ~10-15 (1HP..the engine allready runs over 87%Efficient with fuel burning..Almost no room for gains)
* Denso Iranium Spark Plugs ~10(1HP Max)
* CAI ~10-15 (3-5 at the very most)
* HP headers w/ high flow cat ~10-15 + high flow cat +~10
* 2' 1/4 custom catback mendrel bent with Focuz Exaust 10-15 + exaust +~10
Full exhaust system..(headers..collector..High flow cat, 2.25" Cat back system (10-14 HP)
127 OEM...add maybe 20-23 Horsies... All gains listed on manufacturer pages/ads are Not Typical Gains...Like for an Intake...10-15HP Over very very Dirty OEM Intake with bad O/2 Sensor...Spark Plugs..over burnt plugs with very Improper Gapping...New Coils..over Erroded 12year old Cables..Cat.Over plugged OEM Cat...Headers..Over Cracked OEM Manifold...It's about the only way those gains would be possible on a N/A 1.7L Engine..
Learn this lesson....NEVER Believe Manufacturers HP Gains..They are marketing BS..

If you get your internals done and get a turbo you still won't see 200. An EX has 109 horses at the wheels. You can't just literally double the amount of horses just by slapping stuff on your car. After internals and turbo I am betting you'd get around 160-170 to the wheels.
The Venom 400 does not increase horsepower 25%. It says UP TO 25%. Those getting the full 25% are probably Integras/RSX or RX 7s. I've noticed after looking after several dynos that those cars get good output out of mods. I've seen the Venom 400 for around $270. 25% is essentially 20 horses. If you get that many horses, would they be selling it for about the same price as the AEM CAI (which gets about 2-3 horses)? HELL NO!
Don't forget that our cars are lighter than the average car. It's all about horsepower to weight. Just 5 horses would provide a noticeable boost for us, but it will not on on a 3,200 lb Corvette.
So shed some weight, add some horses, and take it all in stride.

HP Header wit high flow cat..with the Venom will pretty much add 20 Horsies...Bolt on's will only get you so far...After that it's Tuning, Head Work, Balancing, and fuel mapping...

looks like rsx types S swap is worth the money cuz bolts don't get you ish or invest in a turbo kit and n2o those look like the only real hp gains worthwhile

Obviously you don't know how horsepower works....first of all, the numbers you get off the box are totally inflated. The dyno tests they use start with a bone stock car under conditions that totally inhibit peformance (ever wonder why their initial numbers are so low?). Then after the part is placed on, the car is put in prime conditions for max hp (colder air, etc.) And hp is not an algebraically friendly quantity, you can't just add numbers on top of each other. Some parts impede each other's gains, others weaken another. Some parts will do nothing under certain circumstances. Rule of thumb, I/H/E will produce around 10-15 MAX for your car, ignition systems will do fairly little for a car with such a low stock hp, and any serious gains aren't gonna come from some bolt-on part. If you want serious hp, you're gonna have to invest 1000's to achieve something over 200 hp...let alone the numbers you expect to be pushing. Either upgrade all the internals (pistons, crank, rods, sleeves etc) and fuel system for a nice N/A setup or go with FI. Bolt-on sounds nice but it isn't gonna turn your car into the next F-1 beast, just another F&F wannabe.
