Got Challenged Tonight Need Thoughts
ok guys one of the guys in my team on the race division is challenging me to a race at the track a few weekends from now. he has a little nissan truck. He has the head port and polished and an exhaust and an intake. He run a 17.2 17.0, and a 16.7. I was wondering if yall think i have a chance. All i have is injen cai, hp header w/ high flow cat, 2.5 custom skunk2 exhuast, iridium spark plugs, but i have a system in my trunk and yes it is an automatic. So do yall think I will have a chance to beat him or should i not waste my time. I have never taken my car to the track yet, and never raced before. so take that into consideration

Have you ever raced before?! Do you just put it in drive and stomp it, brake torque (hold the gas and brake at the same time), or do you do leave it in neutral, rev, then drop it into drive?

Rep Power: 0 he has advantages over u from the mods of the induction/exhaust system which is very vital,make ur car lighter by removin the ''system'' from the trunk,at the starting line,leave the gear in D,not D3,i had tried many times manually shift the gear but it doesnt do well cus i strongly belive american models have a first gear lock out build in at the console,it takes a long time to reach the torque curve(4,300 rpm) from 2nd gear,it seems like if u take off in 2nd gear the trans will engage in 2nd but if u start off in D the trans will engage in first ,its weird,P.S less fuel in the tank will equal less weight u have to carry.

Rep Power: 0 u should beat him. trust me. btw, since u drive an auto, don't floor it all the way. tap the gas right off the start and then floor it. that way you don't spng off the start. if u have rims take them off and put the hubs back on.

As for me, my as-shole is still sore from the time I got spanked by this ghetto old S-10.. painted blue..
At the front windshield, it has a sticker saying "RICE THIS!".. on the back.. it said "BLUE YOU AWAY!"
I shoulda checked out his dual exhaust first, cause it had a 350 stuffed in it!!

At the front windshield, it has a sticker saying "RICE THIS!".. on the back.. it said "BLUE YOU AWAY!"

either way, the mods you have helps i guess. ur car was probably mid 17 sec stock and hopefully now you shave off enough time...
