350Z and Altima
I work for a media company and they have a car magazine, (like car and driver). Today when I got to the office a guy was coming out with the new 350Z, it made quite an impression. The engine sounds awesome, and the carīs xenon headlamps look great. Looks like a really fast car.
In other things and with the same engine (less powerful though), a new v6 Altima raced me yesterday... of course it kicked my ***, I knew I didnīt stand a chance, but it really did surprise me how fast the car is. At first glance the car seems very heavy, but up from start the Altima left me way back.
It will be interesting to see if the new Accord can match it. I know the v6 has the same HP, but 3.5 liter vs 3.0 means the Altima has more torque.
Nice Nissans! (I canīt believe I am saying this, my first car was a 1990 sentra and I hated it, it was a piece of crap)

Yes... The Nissan VQ engine is incredible. It powers the Maxima, Altima, 350 Z, I35, and the G35. Tons of power and very smooth.
Honda claims the new Accord should run about 1/2 a car ahead of the Altima 3.5 because of the gearing, but I'll call it a draw. The Altima holds about a 25 ft-lb advantage in the torque department.

[hr]The 350Z will smoke the Altima - both in a straight line and on a road course. And it's engine is also 3.5L too, btw. 350Z = 3.5L Z.[hr]

but don't forget that weight will play a factor in this contest. Driver capabilities is also one.

I just got rid of my 95 altima to get the civc... even that car was pretty fast. IMO nissan makes good engines, although in my case my car fell apart every month.
I would have loved to get another altima if they didn't jump prices from 15g to 22g.
