wow, 9.2:1 is pretty low. i was just at the bradenton drag strip this weekend for the NOPI fast and furious racing series. saw a teg that had that motor (read the # off the block) but the valve cover said DOHC VTEC????

is it a royal pain to convert the LS into a VTEC motor? or was this guy just trying to pull a fast one? or was he mix and matching engines?

prob was a LS/VTEC conversion, the VTEC Valve covers dont fit on the Non VTEC block.

If youre really interested in VTEC hybrids check out the Hybrid Forum on Honda-Tech...you can find oogles of info there.

eh i had 142 but i changed go figure

LS VTEC isnt a pain. its easy just do it right or have someone experienced in it do the converision and swap out the LS pistons for some B16 ones or ITR pistons if youre on a budget or just go with after market, B16 or B18C1 head for the swap (not gonna get into this argument about heads at this time) Go with a B18C or B16 Transmission and ITR, CTR or aftermarket cams and you will have a nice strong motor.

Just to clarify something here real quick. The B18B is in the 92-01 Integra's and is a very good motor! I used to have a 90 Integra LS with the B18A and it was WAY faster than my civic! I sold it though to get my civic which from a power and speed point of view it wasn't a good choice! But my civic is new and doesn't have anything wrong with it!

no it's not a 92-93 engine thats the B18A because 92-93 were all cable transmission and the B18B is a hydro transmission.

Not to my knowledge. They switched in 92 to the B18B engine which uped the horsepower from 130 to 140! I used to have one and looked/researched about stuff all the time.

for the 3rd time B18B1 is a OBD1 engine and hydro transmission. 92-93 integras are cable transmission i should know my brothers friend has a 92 LS with a B16A swapped in.

My best friend and next door neighbor has a B20B4 with the B16 Head and it didn't cost him much. He calls it Frankestein also. lol, I'll take pics and put them up if I can, or maybe I'll start a new thread talking about his car, he's on this site sometimes, forgot his user name. Lates

Here's what my car looks like next to his, it was honor. lol
