Honda has never "really" been about performance or tuning. They sell cars to the average market. Yes, the do have the Si and what not but I think they aren't really interested in that market. You can tell by our 7th gens and the changes they made which makes it so much less tuner friendly.

I read somewhere (Honda Tuning I think) That Honda might bring the CTR to the US in spring of 03. All these high performance cars coming to the US. I want to win the lottery now and buy all of them. Now all Nissan has to do is bring over the Skyline GTR or at least the Silvia.

Compare the mods that can be done to a B, K, or H series engine. Now, what can be done to a D series engine? Yup, nada!

Or, just compare 6gen vs. 7gen. I doubt we will ever be able to compete.

we have the advantage if we convert our returnless fuel system and rechip our ecu because we have more torque. look at the restrictions and eliminate them. they are not permanent, although everyone on this board seems to think they are. of course a honda civic is not going to be fast off of the lot. wake up. and dont tell me you cant get power out of a d series engine.

Well, if you compare any old car to a newer one, you will always find more mods available for the older car. Just because it's been around longer. You see this same thing generation after generation. Everyone always complains about the lack of aftermarket available for the latest generation of any vehicle.

The only reason why SVT exist is to give Focus a image lift. They don't make jack on it. Hell, they won't even be mass producing it... nevermind the fact that it is only sold at selected dealerships.

Honda is interested in making money, not playing games. Civic already has the sportiest public image, whereas Focus does not. SVT is Ford's answer to get Focus accepted by the younger buyers.

Why the new 5-Door? To combat the Toyota Matrix XRS.
