Rear Bumper Repair...$$$$?

I got into an accident where I reared into a Mustang. However, the damage done to my car was a lot WORSE than what happened to the Mustang. I have a crack in my rear bumper now. and i have to get it fixed. The estimates I got were about $570 at 2 different places and a Honda Dealership offering me a $440 estimate....this is to replace the bumper then to paint it with the cost of Labor. Has anyone else had to fix their bumper..and how much did you guys have to pay for it? I'm just wondering if I could find a better deal out there..and if $440 is a reasonable price to replace a bumper....

ak can only hope to improve
$440 painted is a decent price. I know that the bumper itself costs about $250...

what about an aftermarket bumper? your going to be limited tho cause only a few companies make full rear bumpers, i think VIS is one. but ya i think an OEM rear bumper is like $500 unless if you could find someone on here that wants to sell it. but ya theres a high demand for them so good luck... btw how did you mess up your rear bumper when you rear ended someone?

there has been a few posts/threads about this but yea... most people have had estimates of 500.00+ to replace the rear bumper. thats usually about the going rate for bumper cost + paint + installation. i guess 440 doesnt seem so bad compared to what other shops might charge you.
i personally have gone through the same thing BUT.. i was lucky cause i have a friend who heads the parts department so i got my bumper at near cost, and had his friend paint it for under 100 bucks. so total for me was a bit under 300.
good luck yo.

$500 is spot on for a new bumper/prep/paint/etc.
