I get very mad when I see some kid driving a modded import recklessly. And you guys wonder why the cops are always picking on us! When you drive fast or recklessly it just makes you look like an idiot. I saw a nice looking import today that had an idiot for a driver and it just made me mad! Ours cars would be much more appreciated if we all slow down and let poeple actually see them. I can understand wanting to cram the gas pedal through the floor at times, but only at the right times. I asked some State Trooper friends of mine why they hate imports and say all say its because of their terrible driving. Seems some of us need to grow up. When I was a teenager, my dad always told me to slow down so that poeple can actually appreciate how nice your car looks. And now, at age 33, I understand his reasoning. You guys have to admit then when you see some other guy in an import, or any car for that matter, driving recklessly, you think they are an idiot driver. We all need to grow up a little and show the puplic that we enjoy our cars and the way we make them look and sound, without making asses out of ourselves. Then maybe we wont get picked on by the cops all the time. I am sick and tired of cops giving me dirty looks all the time and thinking I am a drug dealer or some punk kid, just because of the way my car looks! It almost makes me want to make my car all stock again and put a license plate that says "retired" on it! The import world is getting a bad rap! And after seeing that idiot driver today, I understand why!!

Sorry, but that guy really pissed me off and I needed to vent!

I was going 10 over the limit on the freeway in the afternoon. 3 other hondas and acuras were going about 100 past me swerving in and out of traffic. up the road a little they got pulled over which would have made me laugh at them normally, but this time i got pulled over too. Apparently the highway patrol set up some kind of a speed trap and they got caught and because i was also speeding at a reasonble speed i got it too. It was so embarassing to be on the side of the road with those other bastards who thought they were so cool going way too fast. I admit i was going over the limit but to grouped with those guys in the eyes of the passing cars made me feel so stupid.

seriously so many bad drivers are giving us a bad name. I was driving today and there was like a 2 by 2 lane with a median and i had to turn i had the right of way and this baby blue integra almost took out my whole front end which was when he burnt the red light I was pretty pissed![IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG]

i just saw a prelude in a BAAAAAAAD accident on my way home. it was on the other side of the highway and they closed the whole side off for like a quarter mile. like 10 cop cars at least. prelude was on the flatbed, thats how i saw it....and some dude was getting put into an ambulance.
sux....people need to learn how to drive here.

I see that some people agree and some disagree with this topic. I bet the ones who disagree or make smartass remarks, are the idiots I am referring to. And yes, I agree that it is not only the imports but it seems to be the majority because highschool and college kids like them because they are cheap and fast. I like to have a little fun now and then, but only when it is safe to do so. I was sitting in the center lane of a 3 lane highway with a line of cars in front of me because there was an accident up ahead. The lanes on either side of me were empty. Traffic started moving up ahead and there was about a 2 car length gap between some cars ahead of me. Then, out of nowhere came a modded Mitsubishi Eclipse in the left lane. He grabbed his E-brake and slid through the opening and into the right lane. It was soo stupid! Plus, he couldnt go anywhere in the right lane anyway because there was an accident there! You have to agree that was stupid!

There were also two young kids from our small town that were killed recently. I knew that the day would finally come because the one kid was always driving like an idiot in his Grand Am GT. Then he bought a Mustange GT. He was going about 140mph (or so said the third kid that was a passenger in the car) and didnt make an easy bend in the road and ended up in the trees, killing the driver and front passenger. The third kid that lived is wearing a Halo.

Just think about it next time before you do something stupid.

i agree......im in highschool myself but i drive responsibly and i do know a lot of bad drivers out there and yes the majority of them r in highschool which sux becuz i get grouped with them becuz we drive the same types of cars and so we r put into the same categories.......i have had freinds killed in accidents becuz they were driving stupid.....we can preach but some people dont listen

You know, there are rich old ***** tearing down the highways in Benzs, Bimmers, Vettes and Caddys too... So imports aren't really the problem, it's just the jackass behind the wheel! Theres no need to pigeonhole imports into the bad driver category and leave all the other classes of morons out.

Oh, and I am a good driver, I've never gotten a speeding ticket or anything else, and I don't drive like a nut, so don't throw me in the generalization that because I disagree, I drive 100 down the highway, I rarely even make it to 75.

man dude, for real...i swear especially here in tha bay area cali, where there are HELLA imports...most people are coo and dont race around the city streets or freeway...but there are the ones that do and **** it up for the rest of us. the other day i almost got hit by a guy in a white accord doing at least 130 on the freeway...geez....he was like a fingernail length close to my side view when he cut me off...[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG][IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG] i know its bad to think this way, but sumtimes i just wish they get in a really bad accident...if they dont die, then they learn, if they do, thats one less stupid *** driver on the road.. geez..

As harsh as it sounds...I think that sometimes too. I guess I just wish that people would learn. It took me 4 accidents and 3 speeding tickets to learn, (not all accidents were my fault, but I could have prevented them). Luckily I didn't kill anyone else or myself while I was "learning"...not everyone's that lucky.

Not all import drivers are bad drivers, ill agree with that. It just seems like the cops look at us before they look at a bmw or caddy, or benz. I guess its because they assume its someone young driving the imports. They need to stop picking on us all the time. Most of us are not bad drivers although most of us like to have a little fun now and then. I guess that when a cop sees a modded import, he figures that we mod them just to go fast. In my case that is not true. I mod my civic because I like my car to look good and it gets the ladies attention

Saw another moron driver today. This time driving a rice Del Sol. It was white with really cheesy lookin flames that appeared to have been painted with a spray can! Anyways, I was getting on an onramp and he was right behind me. We merged into traffic at a section where the highway changes from 3 lanes to 2 lanes, and I guess he had something to prove to me. I hear him accellerate and move to the left lane(the one that ends), and he barely gets past a van in the middle lane before driving his car into the guard rails. I could tell that the guy driving the van was pissed. Then, after all that, he just cruises along at the speed limit, holding up traffic. I never tried to race him, I think he knew I could take him anyway. His car was a non vtech w/ hubcaps, rice paint, and an aftermarket muffler. Pretty sad sight A lot of poeple up here complain about NJ drivers, but we definitely have some of our own!!
