How to keep up with a turbo 6th gen??

My friend has a 96 civic ex (d16) he is getting a turbo soon. He is only going to push 6-7 lbs but is still going to be faster than me. I am getting prepared for a custom turbo or the XS one if it is coming out. (return fuel line, ecu upgrade, pistons...) anyways I won't have the money for the turbo anytime soon so I was thinking nitrous. 40-50 shot nothing too big. Would that keep up the a turbo d16 or no. and if so any ideas for nitrous kits?? I kinda want to get the venom one but that is expensive. But I heard it is the safest one. Thanks for the help

nitrous man, definitely. You may have to run 65 shot or higher though, but with a timed spray you may be able to edge a race out with a 50 shot.

if he gets a turbo kit from a company like greddy that is a street legal low boost turbo, you should be right with him with nitrous. i am also gonna be selling a nitrous express kit with a bottle heater soon for $400 if your interested

with 6-7 lbs. you might be able to keep up with nitrous. A d16 can run more boost than that without major upgrades though, maybe even around 9 or 10 psi without even touching internals. But yeah, you'd be able to put up a fight with a 50 shot or so.

it's not safe to run more than 7psi intercooled on a stock d16 engine. the few d16's that i've done i decked the block, used forged pistons, h-beam rods, and metal head gasket on and run 18psi.

before you get nitrous...get a new clutch from ACT or clutchmasters or something...the nitrous will make short work of your stock clutch if you have a 5spd.
