New Site: "Honda Element"
Hey guys, just found this site about the new Honda Element that will be available within Canada in Januaray 2003.
Sticker price $25,000 - $30,000 CDN with includes 160HP 2.4L i-VTEC engine.
It looks rather "euro'ish", which isn't a bad thing, but I don't think the North American market is ready for this type of design yet.
Any thoughts????

I think its looks pretty cool. But I understand where your coming from about the market not being ready yet, but with whats going on in the market its really easy to change peoples trends now a days especially if the price of the vehicle is good.

I don't image this will hurt the CR-V in anyway. I have a feeling people will treat this just like the Ponitac Aztec - just a fad.
Personally, I think Honda should not have introduced this vechile at this time. Sure the SUV market is there, but theres too much competition in it right now.
I think they should put their efferts into bringing over a Civic Type R to North America.
A lot of people don't even realize the Civcis in Japan are soooo much better than what we have here.
I do think the Type R's would do much, much better sales than the Element, but I could be wrong.

Everyone is targeting the young generation or the baby boomers that want something sporty and useful at the same time, hence the big surgence of sport wagons (Mazda PR5, Ford Zx5, Toyota Matrix). This is the gonna be the new craze. Toyota is making the Scion and VW has something coming out too. They are small trucks that have some youthful designs, but can carry camping stuff, surf boards, and lots of people. I really don't know how i feel about them yet.
