EX vs. 99+ V6 Stang race results

Before I start, am not a newbie, I am SOHCVTEC but somehow my account was deleted. Anyways...
Today on the way to work i came upon a black 99+ V6 stang with exhaust work done to it. During a turn the stang was going slow so I went to pass it when he downshifts and jumps the throttle next to me. I proceed at WOT and from this 30mph roll I was approximately 1 1/2 cars ahead of the V6 stang. A little down the road a light comes up and I'm revving while slowing down for the light, look over, no glance back, rev... no return rev. So I assume he didn't want to try to go from a stop, well I was wrong and as soon as the light turned green he revved and dumped the clutch. Since I was launching normally just thought to myself 'fawk' and stomped on it, the guy pulled about 1 1/2 cars on me by the end of 1st, we went until about 90mph, by then i closed the gap to about 1/2 car. I don't think it was too bad, considering those stangs can run as good as low 15s stock and this guy knew how to drive with his launch and chrpin 2nd and 3rd gears during the race. Point: *MY* EX apparently quicker up top then newer model stangs, off the line, they seem quicker even if I had gotten a launch I probably wouldn't be able to hang until at least high second. So if you get the opportunity to race one, dont feel too scared.

Yeah the v6 stangs arnt anything special. There 0-60 are about 7.8 seconds.. There a good matchup for our cars.

True, this particular V6 did better then some of the older SN95 (95-98) V8 mustnags have done against me in a race. Those things were real dogs stock. At least Ford is starting to wake up, im pretty sure the 260HP GT will beat us pretty bad.

once ford designs a new platform for its mustangs, they should be much better. the current mustangs are still using some technology from the 70's

Yeah I smoke automatics with no problems. With a well driven stick though they will alawys take the 'vics off the line with alot more torque then we do, almost 100% more then we have. Oh sadboy.. unless you are boosting or juicing there is no way in hell that you can beat a 4th Gen Fbody with a V8. They run high 13s-low 14s stock and I have owned one the civic would not come CLOSE to those times. same deal w/ the RSX, not close to low 14s stock.

I call B.S. on this, BIGTIME, you would have to be pulling low 15's high 14's for the 80's TA's, mid-low 14's for a LT1 TA, and high-mid 13's for a LS1, which are puttin out close to 310 RWHP stock, sorry pal, try your BS on more car illiterate people

You should have just e-mailed Derek (2k1civic.com) or one of the moderators instead of creating a new account. We're working on it...

Well, the numbers i qouted were numbers I have persoanlly seen there are a lot of different #'s running around for the LS1's, some cars must just be factory freaks, I've seen as high as 320 to the wheels stock, and as low as 275 RWHP stock

Try the forget password link again. Enter your e-mail address. Then look in your e-mail for the new password. Try that new password and let me know via PM what's up. Allright?
