I got PAID to test drive the Si!

So I was in the mall this weekend and there was a Honda display in the mall, So I was looking at the cars and this salesperson came up and said, " You know, you can go down to the dealer and they'll give you $10 to test drive a car." So I said I would do it, I took the coupon and went down there, told them I wanted to test drive the Si. Got it, went for a spin, the shifter is a pain because you can feel it going up and down rather than forward and backward like on the floor, and the handling was a bit touchy (It just didn't feel steady), but it does have some power. Not as much as I thought, but I didn't really know what to expect. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, and I certainly wouldn't give them $19440 for it.
Anyone else wants to try it, here's what I did. This was in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The display is in the Sawgrass Mills mall (near the National Car Rental Center). The dealer running it is Rick Case Honda which is about 4 miles south of the mall on Griffin Rd just off I-75.

What do they get out of it?
How does it benefit the dealer to be giving away $10 in order to test drive their cars? thats just plain stupid of them....
its adding mileage to their car and wasting their gas....

I thought the car was quick I liked the shifter, real easy to snap off quick shifts. I was disappointed that the redline wasnt any higher so I could ride out the gas a little more. I interior is very nice but I felt pretty close to the front windsheild to drive it. I would rather have a rsx.

When you go to a dealer, they get a chance to pressure you into a car. They pay waaay more than $10 to get people in the door through advertising, why not pay $10 to the buyer? If they make $500 or $1,000 off a car, it's worth $10 to give it a try on you.

My brother just test drove a Kia Sedona while I was away....they were giving out free DVD's of Lord Of The Rings with any serious test drives..

Cool deal.... I got a fleece blanket from Hyundai before for test driving the new tibby..I like the new Tibby..suspension is a little softer than I expected...but was good..

They can't sell you a car if they can't get you into the dealership.
