you won't freakin believe this

last night, I got home about 11:00 I went inside, and went to bed. At about 1:30 my alarm goes off. It usually goes off when trucks pass, or somebody with some bump passes. I go and check it every time it goes off. Anyway, my alarm went off, I checked my car, nothin. So I go back inside. I wasn't inside for 1 minute, when it goes off again. This time I go out and there is this big bald black bastard in an orange shirt and black pants running down the street. he ran right past me!! I ran over to my car and my window was busted. I don't have a pistol, and I was in my boxers, so there was nothing I could do.I yelled a bunch of crap at him, but he was running like the wind. THEN, I went inside, got the phone and called 911. I came back outside and there was Three black guys in this baby blue caprice with 20" rims and a big liscense plate #. I started telling 911 the plate # and the car slammed on the brakes, the door flew open, and I took off running. I thought he was going to shoot my cracker ***. He said"why you gettin my plate #?" I told him and he said that he lived in the building across the street, he wouldn't do that , and all of this crap. I know everybody here knows every car in their neighborhood, and so do I. I've never, ever seen that car in my life. I am going to the gun shop and gettin me a 9mm, or a 380. any suggestions on a brand?? I don't even like guns, but next time there will be a dead or near dead piece of crap for the cops to scrape up next time. I had a plate # for him, and he didn't even care. They don't care about imports.

The dealer estimated the damage to my car @ $1162, not including the tint or the $275 for window

My poor girl.

damn that sux. i don't really think having a gun would have helped in that situation. that would have prompted those punks to whip out their guns as well (if they were carrying)

glad you got a plate number though

I would go to the police station and give the details again and demand they take some action. I don't think a gun will be good because you live there. Don't $hit where you live.

While he very well may have done what you allege, you really can't prove he did it without having observed it with your own eyes. You shouldn't have confronted them either...I'm not even sure if I would have without assistance and I am trained in that kind of stuff. In any event, you can file a complaint containing that license plate with facts that support your belief that the occupants in that vehicle were involved with the damage to your property. That will be enough for the complaint to be turned over to a detective who will investigate and make an arrest if there is sufficient evidence.

I would discourage you from purchasing a firearm. You would not have been justified in using it or even displaying it based on the facts you provided in your post.

Nah, never seen them before either. I have the best car on the block, so of course it's my stuff they try to steal. That dude was looking at me like a scared bunny, running like somebody was shootin', I know that it was him. I keep my trunk latch locked, he was trying his butt off to get in my trunk. my gas cap door was open. HE bent the latch trying to open the trunk.stupid

Dustman380: How are the gun laws in your state? If you get a gun, get a Glock 19.

Had you pulled a gun you would've been violating the law. That's just how it is. You can't "pull" a gun on anybody without fear of your life or property. You can ask QCK, he'll vouch for that. If you lived in Ok and he was on your property you could shoot him, so long as it wasn't in the back, and it's legal. It's called the "Make my day law." All you have to do is say you told him to leave once and you feared for your life or property. If he dies off your property drag his **** back! He has to die on your property.

Silverdevil is accurate. BUT, in New York State, a police officer may display his or her gun to stop the commission of a crime. A regular citizen can't usually get away with that unless the crime being committed is serious in nature (usually in fear of serious physical injury or death).

On a side note, I have the Glock 26 (the baby Glock) that I carry off-duty. It's a very nice little gun.

sorry to hear about your car... thats terrible. i agree with everyone who said getting a gun is a bad idea. i would definitely file a complaint about the car, license plate #, occupants of the car, and what happened to your civic. good luck with everything

I wish i would've invented the car alarm.. it's the biggest rip off ever, and everyone buys one. People hear alarms go off all the time and don't flinch. You might check yourself, but everyone else will see it as a pain in the A$$ when they go off. I don't agree with the others. Buy a gun, take it to the range.. fire off some rounds like you really mean it.. and remember, according to statistics.. the person that pulls the gun in at a close distance is most likely to get hurt. The main reason is because the person pulling the gun isn't ready to shoot, they're scared, and the other person panics.. and attacks. So, shoot some rounds off, get used to it.. and next time someone tries to jack you, put a hole in somethin. or atleast fire a round from behind and make him wet himself. I had a cousin hold some black dude hostage cuz he broke into his blazer. He caught him breaking the window, watched him trying to get his head unit.. and walked up quietly with a shiney 38 special in one hand, and a cell phone to his ear. when the guy heard him talking to 911, the guy turned around, my cousing pistol whipped him one good time, and held him at gunpoint till the cops got there. It was hilarious. made the paper a few years ago. Just be ready to do something if you pull.

BoOst I agree with you, but I wouldn't pull it out unless they were trying to cap me or like you said when that guy was running like maybe shoot at the ground or something to make him have a heart attack or something

I have a CCW, and I had to go through classes for that, In NC you must be in fear of; great bodily harm, sexual assault, or death. I carry with me everwhere I go, and my alarm has a pager, but don't pull your gun over material stuff. It can all be replaced, you can't. I had my car broken into last month, total loss and damage, $2750. Ya I would have liked to have caught the little bastards that did it, but I got new stuff and my car got fixed. The only person that got hurt was my insurace agent signing that check. If you still want a gun, get a Glock 26 subcompact, it's small, accurate, and very reliable. Good luck.

Here in Florida it's legal to defend your home with a lethal weapon... maybe if you have a garage, you can keep your car in there and then legally be able to shoot the guy to death (your call) if there's an attempt to steal something from your car while it's garaged. Hopefully the law is the same in Louisiana Also, LA probably has a concealed weapon permit if you feel that you are responsible enough to use and store a firearm safely. There are safety courses and background checks, but you can carry a weapon in your car if you think that's what you want. But a firearm couldn't have been used legally in that situation; he simply wasn't a threat to your life or home and you did have an opportunity to back down. I'm 18 and can't buy a pistol legally yet, but I often shoot a Glock 9mm and a Walther PPK .380 that's "my dad's" The Walther is real nice.. small and easy to control, good for carrying if you don't want to lug around a M1911 .45 pistol. Plus you get to look like James Bond Mine's an original 60's production one from West Germany. Anyways i'm kinda rambling and looking like a gun nut, but just check into the laws before you make a big decision like buying a weapon for protection.

Every state issues many different types of pistol permits and issues them differently. For instance, in my state, New York, it is the duty of the police department to issue pistol permits. Target permits are the easiest to get, followed by premise permits, followed by concealed carry permits, the most difficult. You must have a legitimate reason for wanting a permit, be fingerprinted, have a complete background check and be personally interviewed by a police officer in the pistol licensing bureau. The fee is about $350 total. Each jurisdiction also reserves the right to set it's own firearm laws. For instance, NO ONE may carry a firearm in New York City unless they have a concealed carry permit with NYC endorsement (issued by the NYPD and requires another background investigation + $250 fee) or are a police officer in New York.

If you do decide that you would like to purchase a firearm, be sure to know the laws of your state inside out and backwards and take appropriate courses and be familiar with your weapons.
