question....just installed a magnaflow exhaust via midas

is there a reason why it smells?

What kinda smell are we talking about here? You sure you didn't fart? Or it's not just the exhaust fumes?

Usually, in my experience (which isn't too much, trust me), a new exhaust system, especially a cat-back system, will stink for a bit, but it will go away within 1-2 weeks.

Happens all the time when a new exhaust gets hot for the first couple of days.

but I did notice that my exhaust was touching the bumper a little,
do you guys recommend that I lower it a little?

or is it alright to leave alone?

Some people say leave it, but I'd say get some longer hangers for a few bucks, and save you rear bumper the pain and embarassment of being melted

mine actually touches my bumper as well. And I've left it like that since I got it on, which has been quite a few months. It has burned some of the paint off EVER so slightly. And I've kept an eye on it and it hasnt gotten worse. The only bad thing though is that sometimes I can feel it vibrating my bumper. So you are prolly cool for a little bit till you get longer hangers, and if I get my *** in gear, I will too

LOL, WTF is your engine cookin? I like it when there's hella smog coming out the exhaust after putting it on, on a windy day. You look out your rear view mirror after going so fast it look like your car just killed something. That smell stinks from my Skunk2.
