Adjust the throttle cable in an auto

You can do it, right? For some reason I remember reading that this is only for manuals.

To you gain or lose anything when the pedal is pressed all the way down?

Or is it just there's no more slack at the beginning of the gas pedal?

your pulling the cable so its less slack in the start and you would i guess gain if you droped the hammer
