The MTV flipped show...

OMG did anyone else realize how absolutely dumb and fake that was. Ok first of all was that like the Oklahoma street races or something because I dont go to races in the middle of the country. Second of all I go to races where there is MORE than 5 cars. And usually when you see a cop someone will yell "cops" or something...but no, MTV just has the cop pull up to the cars without anyone seeing and thro on its sirens. And... who would actually be dumb enough to take off and run without actually doing anything wrong. I dont know about you guys but that was just the biggest waste of time i have ever spent wathing tv.

i was actually rather impressed that they got a 7thgen Civic to run a 9.41 on the strip Went against a RX7 i think.... sheesh!

I also kinda found it crazy that the stunt driver actually flipped the 5th gen!

I will admit though, I've seen better from MTV

It was actually California, not Oklahoma. But that aside, yes it was terribly fake, I do feel it proved a point that racing is dangerous and can have very negative consequences.

We don't have much of a street racing problem at all here, probably due to the vigilance and strong presence of the police, but I did manage to make arrests in three separate street racing incidents during my career thus far.

OK I live in milwaukee and I mean even in little milwaukee we have races with at least 50 cars or so. Now I would think out in cali they would have more than 5. Maybe i've just heard rumors about california street races, but i would assume they would be better than in milwaukee. And I still cant get over the fact they are in the middle of nowhere and not one person sees the cop!! WTF is up with that.... But anyways QCKSLVR can you actually get a ticket for just watching the street races and not even particiapting in them. Obviously I guess you can get a curfew ticket, but im wonderign about a ticket for just being there?

We can't do anything vehicle or license wise to someone who is not operating a vehicle, but they could be arrested for obstructing governmental administration and various other charges if they were somehow involved or tried to interfere. We don't have curfews in New York either.

The three incidents that I encountered were on a public road, each time with two vehicles that I observed racing. We do not really have "organized" (for lack of a better word) street races in my precinct area, thankfully.

So was it on tonight or not? I'm in Cali and it's 9pm right now. Last week I was quite dissapointed to see it wasn't on, *ahem* like I was informed on this site. Oh, and anyone who watches MTV and doesn't expect "fakeness", well, I just feel bad for you. Do you think "The real world" is the real world??????

I thought it was supposed to be on last Thurs. too, but not because of this site. It was in the damn TV Quide (TV Datebook, TV Schedule, whatever). They must have re-scheduled it or something?

Oh now everything seems to clarified. I thought everybody was talking about the true life and the flipped as the same thing. It all makes sense now. Yeah the Flipped was really fake, but it did the trick. The girl in the Civic did end up crying.

I don't like how the whole Import Scene is being immortalized on TV, all it is is advertising and marketing for Part Manufacturers.

I remember before when Import Racing was an "Underground Scene" and nobody really knew about it or cared about it. And the guys that were into it were hardcore, and real.

Now Everybody wants to be a Ricer, oops i mean Racer, and these are the people that make our Import Scene look bad, people that don't know what they're talking about and people that are ignorant and careless.

I think that MTV shows predict what will phase out in the future, Like when they showed a "True Life: I'm on Ecstacy" after the whole raver scene was phasing out, then all these little 14 year olds wanna abuse ecstasy,...

. I'm just venting, Maybe it's just me that's annoyed.

ca people race on industrial roads and the middle of highways. and when we usually have scouts a mile down either side with walkie talkies radioing in if a police man is coming.. and when we get the word. we honk our horns and jet. unfortunatly some people get caught for doing stupid things like doing a burn out while leaving.
u cant get a ticket for watching. but then if u flag a race and someone gets hurt ur responsible for what happens that goes with passengers in a street race.
u could get a curfew ticket if ur under 18...

i think the true life show will focus more on how stupid it is to street race, and show fatalities, and wrecked cars, and how you shouln't do. Peeps will be on there saying they were once racers and now they're not because they got into an accident and lost there pinky-toe, and the horrible trauma they went through because of it...

Every time I'm back on the Island, there's always something going down on Deer Park Ave...so nice that Good Sam is right at one end of that strip for all the bad drivers...
