From a design stand point, that freakin looks awesome. Combining the old with the new...sweet. Hope it's not just a pipe dream. I can just imagine that in black.

this describes fords perfectly:
despite the fact they are undoubtedly defeated they jus keep comin back to get their *** kicked again and again and again.. i hope they dont further progress their inevitable downward spiral by gracing us with this fcking pos..of course it may jus be me...
I see that Ford is still keeping the non-functional rear side air scoops. I never understood why they put them there in the first place. I see them on Porsches, and Corvettes have the side scoops on the front parts of their doors. On both of these cars, the air scoops serve a purpose by funneling air toward the intake. But a Mustang is a front-engine car, so having rear side air scoops is just retarded. It's like if Honda decided to put a non-functional ram-air hood on the Civic.
There is a big difference between being a BIG automarker and being a QUALITY automaker. Ford definitely has problems with its vehicle quality. Their quality is a lot better than it was 10 years ago, but it still doesn't match Honda or Toyota. Ask any auto mechanic and he'll tell you that Ford mechanics are paid the best, because they work a lot longer hours than a Honda tech due to the fact that there are more broken down Fords to work on. Hard to believe that Ford's slogan in the late 80's was actually "Quality is Job One"

They both look good...
I would personally want to buy the retro design Mustang myself, but it just won't have the mass market appeal. It will be a low volume niche vehicle, like the Thunderbird. I think the futuristic design has a better chance for production.
