Rep Power: 0 Ford has been making awesome trucks for a long time. Seems like more f150 trucks have been sold than any other vehicle world wide. I had a gt stang once and it was a major pos but very fun to drive. A friend has a taurus and it has been a fairly decent car.
Where did that info come from?
Edit: Oops. "Car and Driver" hmm....they don't really judge cars by their reliability. It's strictly based on the driving experience if you ask me.

Rep Power: 0 What's so bad about Ford? I've owned 4 Ford cars and 1 Ford truck. They've all been great with the exception of 89 Taurus SW...but even that one wasn't bad until it hit really high miles. The other cars have since hit 200K.
Example, my last car. Bought it with 96K on the clock. Sold at 168K. The only problem I had with it...I had to clean the EGR passages. Cost of the job...$5 for a gasket.
I'm seriously considering picking up a used 96 4.6L Tbird.

PESTLNS: If your considering a t-bird, see if you can find a 40th anniversary 1995. They had special pinstriping and floormats with a special engine engraving. I had a royal blue 95 and it was sweet.

Rep Power: 0 My exgirlfriend had one of those 40th anniversary t-birds and I drove it all of the time. I loved that car, I think that's what I miss most about being with her.

Rep Power: 0 Hell yeah, they were nice. It would have been better if they could have put some special wheels and maybe a little more power on them, but were cool. I put a Flowmaster exuast on it, which made it sound alot better. I sold that car in 5 hours on the lot at my grandparents house back in Iowa.

And, for all you Ford Truck this and Ford truck that, take a look at the category. Last time I read it it was the 10 best cars list. They don't include trucks. They have a seperate category for trucks. What's it called? Oh, yes, 10 Best Trucks, of course!

Rep Power: 0 Take it easy man. I think you're getting a little too defensive.
Fords may not be the best cars but they're not POS's.
I may not ever buy one, unless it is a 40th T-bird but I still think that they are pretty good cars.

Rep Power: 0 I only mentioned the trucks because I got the vibe that you were bashing ford in a general sense. But whatever. Ford doesn't make the best cars but some of them are decent.

Rep Power: 0 Ford can make trucks... American trucks seem to be better built than their cars... (isn't that gae...) ... I don't understand this country sometimes.

And, at the Car and Driver page where I got the pic it was the Ten Best Car history link. No trucks are included. I've said it b4 and I'll repeat it: There is a whole other category dedicated to this.

If I follow your train of thought correctly, then Honda would have 4 cars and 4 trucks, but we all know Honda doesn't make trucks. Honda has 4 cars, 3 SUVs, and 1 van.

Rep Power: 0 Arguing over all of this is totally useless. What exactly constitutes the 'best' cars or trucks? Does best = most powerful? Or best value for the money? Best reliability? Best fuel economy? Best looks? Or a combination of everything? I'm sure C&D described their criteria for compiling their list. And I'm sure their definition of 'best' differs greatly from a list that Consumer Reports or Sport Compact Car would create.
And I'm sure each of us has different criteria for determining the best cars and trucks. Seems like all we can do is agree to disagree. So let's please leave it at that.
Have a nice day...

Rep Power: 0 All this arguing.. Ford now is one of the better car companies out there.. Anything built past 1990 has been solid.. Ford is still suffering from an old days bad reputation that has long been fixed. Personally I think the quality of Honda has gone down..and ford has gone up alot...

Rep Power: 326 You might be right, mo. Honda quality does appear to have dropped a little, but only in the ol' 'vic we love so much. I still think the Accord is king of the hill when it comes down to it. Nobody in it's class is a better, all around car. With the all-new 2003 Accord being released I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl.
And I'll give you that one, Ford quality has improved dramaticly in the last 10 years or so, but you still won't catch me driving any of their cars. Trucks are another story altogether. But I don't like their SUVs. I most def. don't like the Focus
