No, no more "b!tching" from 2cute cuz I am happy now. This piece of sh it car will be out of my life soon enough wwooohoooo. As far as a new car I will be getting the Cooper S or the Spec V I haven't decided yet.
Sounds like you got the 1 in a million that turned out to be a lemon. If you read ANY consumer report on the civic, the reliability on the cars is almost always top rated. That is why you hear about hondas getting their second wind around 150,000 miles.
You of course had a bad experience and now you assume that all hondas are pieces of $hit. Go buy your cooper or spec V and have fun. Now that your getting another car, you have no reason to keep griping on the board.

I think it has bean your goal to stear people clear of this car. You must be pretty ticked off for all of the problems that you had. I agree that these cars aren't perfect, but what do you expect for the price we pay? I had my share of problems as well, but instead of bringing them to the dealer to fix I am taking care of them myself. I learn more about my car and about cars in general. We have the same car, but my approach was different than yours was. You, negative. Me, positive. I hope you don't have this kind of an outlook on life in general. Bye bye...

I also traded my 2k1 in - but not because of the problems but because i wanted something that looks a little nicer than my 4dr sedan DX, no power anything, and 14" hubcaps. Going up to the protege 5, i liked the interior more, came standard with Power everything, 4 wheel disc brakes, ABS and nice stock 16" rims. But another big reason is that i wanted a 5 speed instead of my civic DX auto.
All in all, nothing wrong with the civic - is a great car, but given the price of my Pro 5, the HANDLING, and the standard package it came with, i moved on. But i'm still here cuz the threads you guys post are funny.

side note the parts from my car are almost gone. I have my rims/tires and springs that I need to sell. Oh and my lights.
Grey,
I have to disagree with you on the "you get what you pay for" statement. Seriously man. If we subscribe to your theory on automotive economics, then we can assume that a 20,000 dollar(theoretically) ford focus is a better built car. Now, we all know that ford has a less than stellar record on making cars, but are we to assume that a 20,000 or even 30,000 dollar ford is a better built vehicle than a 15,000 dollar Honda? No....
16-18 grand after TTL is a LOT of money to most people. Most of us are stuck in car payments for the next 3 to 5 years. The reason I bought a honda in the first place is because I knew that I would be getting MORE than I payed for.
If your having problems with your vehicle, and it is under warrantly, you should take it to the dealer and have it fixed. I personally think it is my responsibility as an owner to make honda correct any problems on the car as long as it is under warranty. You payed for it, use it dude.

I see your still posting...............hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I still can't understand why someone who "HATES" their car sooooooooo much would be STILL POSTING ON A WEBSITE THAT IS DEADICATED TO THE INTEREST OF INFORMATION OF A CAR.
All you have done 2cute is ridicule and bash the makers of a car on a website that is for people that; for some reason or another, like the car that they own.
All I can see is that, because you've had a bad experiance with a piece of machinery, is that you want everyone else that hasn't had a problem to get on "YOUR SIDE".
Its like me saying that, because I didn't like a Mac computer because I had problems; then I'm going to go to a Mac website and tell all of them that, "Mac's Suck!!!, "There a POS".
I hope you don't have any problems with the future car you buy. Because, if by any chance I buy one in the future, you won't be there.
GOOD BYE!!!!!!!!
AND PLEASE GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE GO AWAY!!!!!!!

Well considering you can't get out the door with a Cooper S for under $26000 and a cooper for $23000 forget that idea. Not worth it to me. All around the Spec V is better deal for me. Basically the Spec V is about the same weight and has a bit more power. I already picked out the car and all I am waiting for is for Honda to give me my money.

I really think it sucks that you got a bad car, and hey haven't we all bought something that was really crappy,(I know a $17,000 car can't compare to a $40 cord less phone). I'm not trying to make friends here or mend fences, but come on, really, you have bashed 7th Gen Civic's to the ground. So lets move on.....and if your as cute as you say I'd love to "Kiss Your Cute Little ***"

Well I have been told that I have a very cute I don't have a pic of it sorry but I have a pic of me. I don't hold anyone for what they reply to my threads or their opinion but I do have a problem with people that tell me my opinion is wrong. No hard feelings and I don't plan on leaving this site it entertains me.

AlphaInfinity: My little "you get what you pay for" statement still applies I think. I know that you get more in a civic than you do in a focus. That's because Honda's engineer's were a little more educated than Ford's and they designed the civic with many parameters in mind. Cost, safety, and fuel economy being the primary ones. I'm just saying that if you buy a BMW you're going to get higher quality components. Where Honda would throw in a stamped piece of metal you would get a cast piece in a BMW. Where Honda would use a zinc coated screw, BMW would use a brass screw. So on and so forth. Although with a Honda the engineers have thought out many things, so in places where a stamped piece of metal is good enough they go with that. Although there might be problems with this in a certain percentage of the civics, the overall satisfaction of customers is still high. I think Honda did a good job with the money they had allocated for this project (the 7th gen civic).
2cute: I getcha. I wish my car came out perfect. I have had my share of problems. A hair under the paint. The hood cowl sticking up (from broken and missing clips). The driver's side windshield wiper hitting the a-pillar. The driver's side door sill sticking up (from a broken clip). The passenger's side door moulding sticking out (from misalignment). The second gear popping out. The click in second when turning right and accelerating. The paint flaking off more than I'm used to. The A/C not really cooling as much as I'm used to. the air vents not staying in one position (they're loose and they drop down on their own). Yadda yadda yadda. Then when I bring it in to Honda to fix some of these things I get basically get yelled at because I have aftermarket parts on my car. Sucks. Anyway, hopefully the last model year will have these things fixed. That's what I'm getting when it comes out. K series engine I hope! Anyway, mods will be transfered and I'll sell the 2001 as stock.

I am no where near retail on a lot of things. The system alone if you went to go buy it would run you aproximatly $2000 to $3000. The springs yes I am at retail I will go as low as $125. Oh and the rims are Motegi MR7s with Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s on them. The have wheel locks, hub rings, and 2 keys. If you went to go buy those you would be looking at like $1200 to $1500 with rubber.

Not to be rude be did it ever occur to you that the mods you did caused the problems?? I about 9500 miles on mine and it was running just fine until I started modding it. Now I have sqeaks, knocks, and a blown strut( which is on back order but I don't understand why b/c they make them everyday when they make the new cars). I know you may thinkI have the problems b/c b/c the person doing it did a bad job but the person doing has won more than 5 awards for having the most moddifed car at all attended car shows. Sure I would love to have my 2000 corvette again but it had more problems than the civic thats why I got rid of it. Good Luck with your lawsuit.
