'01 Civic Ex Vs. '00 Accord Ex

My friend has a 2000 Accord Ex and he says he's going to beat my Ex Civic. Do you think I should give it try.

Yeah you'll take him, when that accord that i raced lost: the excuse he gave me was that his car was automatic. hehe

Auto=no good (sorry, i just love the feeling of the 65000rpms)

Can our cars really beat an accord ex manual 4cyl? Since the new models are comming out, the prices of the accords are cheaper than the civics around here. I thought about tradin my vic in for one since they are that much cheaper, but I won't even consider it if the accord is slower than our cars.

its not cause your wheels are super heavy (well not all the reason anyway). 18 inch wheels = larger diameter = more work to make 1 rotation = crappier acceleration.

Hey, my girlfriend(this is her screenname) has a 2001 Accord Lx Auto and it is as quick as my car with all my mods. And to think she pulls on me off the line. I match speeds with her around 60. I know I can go faster than and will eventually catch up to her but who want to race with their girl and know you cannot win unless you take it past 100? I am not willing to risk it and could not even think about trying it. The only two times we have raced was up to 60 and it was a long on-ramp.

And I do not know why guys try to impress a girl by racing another vehicle? You can prove how much of a man you are by not endangering her and showing how mature and responsible you are by not. If you show a girl(and she knows if you do, so do not try just do) you care about her she will appreciate you and trust you. How many guys actually look forward to seeing their other half and out of those guys how many know that their other half is looking forward to seeing them?

Did someone say 65000 rpms? Just b/c their car is heavier doesn't give you an edge esp when it is a different car. The Accord 4 cyl is a 2.3 L with about 23 more horses and 42 more lbs of torque. Our torque to weight ratio is 11.2(ex)/11.24(lx). The accord torque to weight ratio is 9.97(lx)/8.39(lx v6)/8.54(ex v6). The lower the torque to weight ratio the better. The less weight you have for every pound of torque, the faster you will accelerate. The Si is only 10.39. With those numbers you can figure out the 1/4 mile times with different slip ratios(spinning tires), road conditions, and miss shifts, and anything you want to incorporate. How do you think, video games and plug in dynos work?
