CSLs have traditionally been sportier, lighter versions; hence the abundant use of carbon fiber, kevlar, aluminum, and titanium. If you notice, the interior looks more like a club racer than a street car. You get this car and there is nothing which needs to be changed---it's already tuned and customized from the factory!
Of course, there's always the need for more speed, and for some of us, more flash...

The CSL is 440lb leighter than a standard M3.
Uses F1 technology.
Wider wheels and tires, bigger brakes.
350hp with BMW's sequential M Gearbox.
Body is carbon fiber.
Extra thin glass panels for windshield, windows, and rear.
Power/Weight ratio is now 7.7lb/bhp vs 9.6lb/bhp for the stock M3.
This came from the January issue of European Car.

What's wrong with SMG? These aren't automatics that can be shifted like a manual. They are manual in the sense that they don't have torque converters and a computer does the shifting for you. In fact it can do the shifting much faster than any person can, so I would defintely want one of those in my car.

"have u heard of the V8 engines in the 3 coupe body cummin this year."
No, but I have heard talk of transplanting the M5 V8 into an M3 as a production car. They've done it in the race cars and some guy swapped one into his M coupe (it was in a magazine). But I haven't heard about a V8 3 series outside of M.
