bad noise from brakes

ok heres whats up... i know my rotors are ****ed up cuz i get mad vibration when i brake.. been like that for a while now. but this morning, i started the car up and when i was backing out of the garage i heard this grinding coming from my rightside front tire. sounds like metal grinding. its very audible when rolling at a slow speed (5-10mph) and i often hear it at higher speeds (40-50mph). it does not make this sound when i step on the brakes. im guessing that my brake pads are out.. will someone confirm this and how much it would cost to get it fixed?

nah its not cuz they were wet, i work at a car wash/detail center so i know what it sounds like when theres water in ur brakes. but still, the car has been in the garage all night so theres no way that water couldve gotten on it. the noise wont go away until im crusing past 60mph.. and it returns when i slow down.. so i definately know theres a problem.

basically brake calipers adjust to how thin your pads are getting, thus they are always in contact with your rotors. If you start to get a sound like that, even when you are not braking, it basically means you have no more pad left, and your brakes are metal on metal...

No break pads dude...You're gonna need new rotors now too. More times than not, when you get metal on metal you can't turn them within specs, so yeah, new rotors dude...

Look at it this way...Brembo here you come.

Go to Midas and get a free estimate. Then you will know for sure what it will take to make your car safe again. After getting your brakes fixed, have them checked more often to ensure that your pads are not running down.
