firestone dealers, whats up

What is firestone,s problem. I have 2 cars both 2k1 with firestone tires, a mazda truck and a civic lx. My truck started cupping the tires on the outside front at 10k miles , btw they were rotated at 5k also. I took the truck to the mazda dealer where they did a 4 wheel alignment and said everything was fine and I should take it to firestone because the problem was the tires not the truck. The firestone dealer imediately went on offensive even though I did not ask for new tires ,just a explanation of what was causing the problem, I have never been talked down to like that by any one, they were damn rude. So I am taking the firestone tires off my civic and my truck and never again will I own another firestone tire.....those people are scam artist......

I used my Firestones for 6 months and took them off permanently. Those things are a deathtrap - absolutely no traction in rain ... and don't think about driving in the winter with them.

The reason I blame the company is because I left a message for the district mgr. to call me and he did not return my call...

I Have Bridgestone Turanza LS H's.. bridgestones and crapstoens are made in different plants to differen standards....they are 2 seperate companies owned by the same corperation..

OEM Size tire..Bridgestone Turanza LS H's have to be the best.. very comfortable.. VERY quiet..awesome traction wet and dry....and I mean awesome....No clue how they'll go in winter tho.. but their touring tires and not all season..so I have 4 winter tires for winter..

I prefer the Yokohama Avid... size 195-60-15 as a stock tire replacement. If you don't choose that particular one, at least get an H rated tire. And a wider tire diameter also contributes to more traction but don't go too wide.

Learn more about tires. Anyone with fair knowledge of tires should be able to look at the stock Firestones and tell that they suck right off the bat.

I have always preferred michellin energy tires. They cost a little more but they last, ride good, have good all around traction, and are of top quality.

The firestones are terrible. No traction what so ever. That was the first thing I noticed when I bought the car. I can't believe they even sell the things.

Anyhow, it's amazing how companies treat their customers these days. They not only lose your money the day they are rude, but more importantly, they lose your money for years to come. Personally, I will spend the extra money to get good service and feel like the company appreciates my patronage.

The Turanza's offer the same grip..the H4's are a little noisy..otherwise great..

The Michelin Energy..good as well...but don't grip as well...

I don't have any noise with my H4s. Perhaps that's for the 205s?

Well the district manager finally called me ,He apolgized and offered to replace the tires as a good will gesture for me being treated so rudely. I am really pissed and at the monent I don,t know what I am going to do , I did tell him that I would never step foot in the store that insulted me......

Actually, SonicCivic, wider tires give you better grip in dry conditions. In snow and rain, the thinner the tire, the better grip you get.

It hasn't snowed here since 1975. (I wasn't even born yet.) I was putting my judgement on dry conditions.
