discontinuin new si??
Today i heard some fairly interesting news. I was told that they are considering to discontinue the new si due to the unpopularity of it. I mean think bout it have a mini odessy or have the base rsx which looks better with the same engine, ythink about it. also brought to my attention that they are goin to lower the price of the new si to sell it... i may even think of doin a trade in...anyway just something to talk bout if any of u have heard of the same please let me know
The only way i really see for that to happen is if they are bring in the type-R. Even then, they might reintroduce the Si as a coupe, but I highly doubt that scenario. They won't discontinue it, because it will catch on eventually. Nobody was buying the 7thgens when they first came out either......it took about 6 months for sales to really start taking off.

ok well the dealer by me still has 3 of them that they got a white a silver and gold, it was soemthing my friend heard from the dealer im gunna stop by there tomorrow well today and see if its true, and on the accord yea it has like over 220 hp and its like 23-28gs
They should come out with the Civic and RSX Type-R and make the SI a coupe. Bring out the new Accord and sell all type-R parts to the public. I'm just waiting for Honda to become a friendly American Company and give Americans what they want: FAST CARS!!!

The dealerships in Oklahoma have not sold one for the last month and a half, and have had 2 of the 4 sold already traded in for something else. One dealership has already stopped carrying the Si's, and I wouldn't be suprised if the others follow suit. There have been rumors that Honda will take the Si off the market and redesign as a coupe, or that they will just stop selling them altogether. Cars like the ITR and Civic Si in the past always sold well in central OK, which is why they're so suprised at this. I wouldn't mind the Si being redesigned into a coupe (can we say ready made swap?), but they need to do something. The current one is just nasty.
My dealer has 20 of them in their inventory and selling them for about $1200 under MSRP right now. This is at a large dealership in the Dallas, TX area, so they're not selling all that great.

I really want to trade my '02 EX sedan in (6k miles) for an Si. My dealership has 6 of them sitting there. The sticker said $19k, but i dont know if its gonna be further marked down. They are all silver or white. I didnt see any other color. There may have been a black one.

The dealership in my city had brought one in and thought it was going to be big, I was one of the few that took it for a testdrive. It has been on the lot now for about 2 months and no one has bought it.
I liked it Ok, but like eveyone else, the 160 HP and the seats did it for me.
If they redesign it into a coupe then I will buy one for sure, I would die to have that.

Whatever the case may be I don't really care one way or the other. I saw the thing at the dealer's and I wasn't impressed. I've seen some aftermarket stuff for them and that makes it look better. Out of the box it's fugly. The only thing I like is the seats. JMO

i don't think honda will stop making them after only one year. i know they have a new blue color coming out for the next model year so that might help. dealers in the bay area have the si's priced in the 16k range and i have yet to see one on the road.
I WANT ONE! at that price, why not. I got my '02 EX sedan for like $18,9xx back in january. The only dillemma, how the hell would I ever convice my parents to let me trade my car in (only 6k miles) for something much sportier and probably less economical. Hmmm.... I knew i should have had the car put in my name.
