gas milage with A/C

How much more gas do you use when you drive with the A/C on? And same question for when you drive with recirc on? Thanks.

If you're on the open highway, A/C at least for me, didn't hinder mileage that much at all. It's acceleration where you're gonna feel the power loss. Basically it's if you're uncomfortable, use it. Recirc just takes the air inside the car and cools it instead of taking in fresh air, nice on really hot days, just takes the semi cool air and cools it more, to a point of course.

I've been driving around with the A/C constantly for the past couple of months, and my LX with 5 sp. Manual just got 35.5 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. That's really damn good considering I drive it like I stole it (jackrabbit starts and generally 75-85 mph on the highway.) What a great friggin' car!

I tend to use the a/c a lot because my daughter is usually in the car. I have just gotten used to it. Our a/c systems do not pull nearly as hard on the engine as hondas did in the past. Usually, it's like night and day when turning it on and off as far as performance is concerned. I think they did changed something in the newer hondas to tame this issue.

Anyhow, I think I lose around 1-2mpg using the a/c. It's a price that I am more than willing to pay. There have been some scorchers lately.

1-3mpg would sound about right. Somebody should do a test or something

It seemed to me around 2 mpg if used constantly.
