Cost to repair Civic?

I just got into an accident where i accidentally reversed into a black mustang, at night. I was trying to leave the scene, but i got caught. My damage had way more damage than on that black mustang however. On my back bumper, I got a big gash/crack on it about 3 inches long, and some scratch marks. I was wondering if i need to replace the whole back bumper, or could the honda shop fix or patch up the cut in the bumper? it's a whole crack on the bumper and it's a decent size. but should i replace the whole bumper? or could they just patch it up somehow? i don't know. if someone thinks i should replace the whole back bumper, how much would it cost? Actually, NOTHING happened to that mustang..all i hit was their front license plate..That was IT! My friggin bumper got a big crack..and they still went crazy over their lil damage on their friggin LICENSE PLATE! their damage was NOTHING..my damage was way more..so should i jus replace the bumper?!

I did the same thing only to my freakin mom's car...sucks huh? I had a small crack in the plastic and some scuff marks. Do you have scuff marks or actually scratch marks??? That will make a difference if they are just scuff marks, because all I did was get some Meguiars Gold Class and kept waxing and waxing and buffing that bad boy out...did a good job. As for the crack, I got some touch up paint and kept putting coats of touch up paint in the crack...start in thin coats till u build up a thick coat. Once it is dry, get some 1200 grit sandpaper, some water or car wash and put the water or car wash fluid over the scratch..GENTLY sand the crack till its even with the paint, fill in any more scratches, get some Meguiar's # 26 GLaze, put it on and let it sit, wipe it off and voila...should look pretty descent! PM me if you have any questions...

By the way, the bumper would be rather expensive to replace if its a small scratch, probably blow your deductible if you only have a $500 deductible...

i know how that is...cept i backed into a wall....but yeah, i went to get an estimate, for a small gash in tha paint would cost about 500 to fix......with 500 bucks, i could replace both my bumpers and my trunk lid...

I can't believe you tried to leave the sceene. It's ppl like you that give young drivers a bad name. If you ever have to leave at least write a note and leave it for the driver of the other car explaining who you are, where to contact you and your insurance company.

I'm dissapointed in you

i got another rear bumper story for ya
i was going slowly along in peak hr traffic when all of a sudden "CRASH!?!?!?!", my first reaction was "F*#K?!?!?!?!"

got out, checked the battle damage, the paint is a bit chipped and there are stress marks, and the bumper has been 'popped out' and not flush with the rest of the panels

turns out the guy is only covered for 3rd party property damage insurance, i got a quote from the smash repair and it's about $700. problem is his insurance will only pay out if the damage was more than $850.........grrrrrrrr

i am seriously thinking of leaving it as is and when he pays up i'll use the money and get some rims.........

I had a big @ss hole in my rear bumper after I rolled the car. The tow truck driver backed in to something when parking it, because it wasnt that way when I left the accident scene.
Anyhow, the insurance company sent it away, just out of town, to a place that repairs plastic bumpers, and when I got it back it looked as good as new, you would never know there was a problem with it. The biggest cost though is to have the bumper re-painted. I cant remember the cost of it all though, get it looked at though.

P.S. - WTF were you doing trying to leave the scene, if I caught you doing something like that I would beat the hell out of you.

Have A Nice Day ..............
