anyone painted side mirrors>????
got a white lx coupe a week ago and the black side mirrors on the white body look nasty, i was thinking of pinting them (sanding, priming, spraying and clear coat) If anyone has done this please tell me how it came out. will the paint get nasty or scratch off when hit by heat or bugs?

my friend has a '95 eclipse GSX and i painted the square piece of taillight in the back white to match his body, i jus sanded with fine grit and sprayed (no primer or clear) the paint's holdin up good. my question is, what would the body shop do that will actually make the paint last? they use powdercoat?

the body shop will do a better job than you thats what they do for a living i t should cost you about 150 for mirrors and doors i actually might do it if you are in the sac area pm me we ca both go in at the same time and you could get it at the same price i am going to get which should be about 35 bucks
Actually, every 2002 LX I've seen thus far has color keyed door handles. I have a 2001 LX, so both the mirrors and door handles on my car are black, but I hope to get around to taking care of that soon.
i saw a rallye red civic coupe with the strip across the top of the rear plate in that plastic black colour..
is that a DX or something? it looked really cheap..like the really low end cars you see in europe...

It's pretty simple, take the little triangle thingy off on the inside. Then just remove the bolts that hold the mirror on and unplug the harness as necessary. Then take them to get painted. If you remove them it'll be cheaper than the body shop doing all the work.
Thanks. I thought that you might have to remove the entire door panel to get to the harness. So can I just pry that triangle-thing off or are they bolts or screws that hold it in place.
How about taking off the "mirror" part of the mirror?
