Automatic Transmission and Turbo?
Question: Anyone know how well the Automatic Transmission will hold up if I make a custom built turbo on it...
I've talked to a motor shop and basically figured out how to build the turbo.. i just need a custom manifold, the turbo, downpipe and intake piping, a brass T to cut into the coolant system, a Fuel management unit, new fuel injectors, and some tuning work, etc, etc. i also may switch over to OBD1.
But will my auto tranny hold up? Any way to strengthen it (ie. torque converter)...?

i'm going with the T25 for now because it's a smaller turbo.. once i get the t25 working well... i'll upgrade... but for now i just want to get a small turbo working with an intercooler setup...
and automatic works just fine with turbo. Actually because between gears you dont let up on the gas pedal.. your blowoff valve wont go off and you have less turbo lag. so there are positives to auto turbos.. not that there aren't negatives.. but to stay auto/turbo dont go together... thats just wrong.
