Bring The Type Rs To North America Petition
Whether you want the Civic Type R or the new Integra (RSX) Type R, just take a moment to sign it! If you comment, don't sound like an a$$hole. (Or a fool like signature #3007... though it's kinda funny...)
I am signature #3,025.
Make the # go up!
Can I please get this to stick at the top?

Rep Power: 0 done. i think acura will bring the "RSX Type R", but I highly dought they will bring the "Civic Type R". I test drove a the SI, and it rocks, but with a "RSX Type S" engine in it, it would be way better!

Rep Power: 0 ppl who think the RSX R is coming need to think again...bringing the Type R would conflict with their marketing of Type S being their highest trim(on any of their cars TL etc) and that the K20A puts out 220hp with 98 Octane Gas (which I dont think they sell here at regular pumps). That and you know we wouldnt get the recaros' brembo brake etc. If the K20A were to run on our gas it would be dam close to 200hp which the Type S is already. I also thought that the RSX R was the logical choice but I doubt you will see....you are more likely to see the Civic Type R here than the Integra.

Rep Power: 0 If the Civic Type R comes to the states, then Honda would demolish their market for the new Civic Si - (but I know you'd probably wonder... what market?) If America gets their hands on the Type R, people wouldn't even want an Si anymore, especially since it has disappointed the Honda enthusiast in performance aspects. I... could see where this is going perhaps, but even I think that there are already too many damn Civics (DX, HX, LX, EX, Si, Veloz, Hybrid, etc.), and we're just cut down to two Integra (RSX) models, but afterall it is an "Acura." Most of their line is only 2 models, so what's wrong with another limited edition? "Si" is limited, right? Who knows if even a Civic Type R will sell well, and I kinda base that on how well the Si's popularity is. Don't get me wrong, I know they are two totally different cars. I would just hope that the Si would bring low expectations to the Type R.
However it is in a lil bit more demand than the new Integra Type R, so...
For the RSX, I do not see how the Type R would potentially ruin their Type S market especially considering the Type R is a limited edition. Last time there were only 500 a year if I'm not mistaken, and that's not a lot. Besides, look at what a Type R comes with compared to what a Type S has? The Type S is more flexible than the Type R. It just offers more in the performance area rather than "luxory" or how well it functions on the side while offering less to supplement performance. Unlike the Type S, the Type R isn't exactly just for anyone who wants a fast car. There is a market for those people who just want performance that don't mind not having a moonroof, cruise control, no sound deadening equipment and a stiffer suspension. I just don't see how it would ruin the Type S. Maybe there's something I'm missing...
Besides, this car started it all...

Rep Power: 0 There were around 1500 type R's I believe...Ive seen plates around 800 or so I believe, but I may be wrong about the 1500.
Im just going by what Ive heard. The Civic Type R I believe uses the K20A2 so the octane issue wouldnt be a problem. Yea the market for the Si would diminish, but I really dont think there HAS been a market for it. Around here prices have been dropped to at or below invoice and they are STILL sitting on the dealers lot. Either way I wouldnt mind seeing either Type R making it, but I wouldnt get myself all worked up considering they probably wont see the light of day.

Rep Power: 0 Then I hope we can do something about this. Other countries get Type Rs - why can't we?
If you look at Honda's line of cars now... without a Prelude, they could use a Type R. At this time it just stands still as the Civic Si and an automatic Accord EX as the "fast" cars. (I hope the new top-of-the-line Accord is promising in performance.) They need a CTR, but I just don't know where it would fit through all of those Civics. But I'm forgetting, in the past there were a lot more Civics than there were now (a lot more hatchbacks... there was even the del sol). Hmm...
Just bring back the goddamn Integra...!

I can see that money being made back if the CTR is successful.
Honda does not produce many Type R's. Look on the corporate website-sales are few. but who knows why honda doesnt want it here. I think the most widely accepted arguement is that it would have a significant impact on the RSX sales--thus minimizing profits for honda through its acura line.
As it is, RSX sales are not strong for honda like the integra was. They had to make sure they "detuned" the Si, so it would not further cut into RSX sales(even with the same engine as RSX-S in the type R), the type R is faster than the RSX-S.
In the future, the civic Si should remain a hatchback, but have the K20A2+6speed tranny, and the RSX S should have the J-series engine in the CL base model (3.2 liter 225HP V-6) with a 6-speed tranny, so it could compete better in its class.

Man, at least half of your replies are nothing but negative useless feedback!
