Yea our first and second have good ratios but the third gear sucks. I had a good take off when I was racing an rsx type s, but yea he still beat me. He probably wasn't trying too. I noticed that.

I donno Juggaman...our third gear really doesnt have the best ratio compared to our first and second.
We get a preatty good launch cuz our cars are light and front wheel drive cars tend to take it in the start compared to a rear wheel...but im not comparing our cars to an AWD car...

Rep Power: 0 I don't know about everyone else, but I'm with Juggaman with what he says about third gear. Whenever I'm cruising around at about 50mph, and some one starts messing with me, all I have to do is mash it a little more and watch the speed build up to 80 mph. VTEC POWER!!!!!!!!

I don't even notice that much.....I just drive.......

Rep Power: 0 Our cars have alot of kick in first and second and due to our cars light weight we tend to
launch really good (unless you suck at launching than that's a whole different story).
I can take people on launches but than get smoked when I hit third ahhahahha

Rep Power: 0 third gear sucks, I always start off in third gear from a dead stop and the car keeps dying. Why is that? Sometimes I can get the car to roll a little and then it dies. Why does it do this? Im confused . . .

remove your cat.converter(I know it's illegal,shhhh dont tell)and run a straight pipe and you'll get crazy top end,trust me I did it and I can trip 3rd(front end bounces twice)dont believe me,see you at the 2k2 meet

There is NO pull in 3rd gear.

Downshifting to 3rd on the freeway is not uncommon. Compared to downshifting to 4th, you'll of course get better results in 3rd.
