Checking edmunds.com, looks like the certified teg is $17,494 - so the dealer IS within the average price...but you can always talk them down a little - the key is negotiations...I would do it over the civic if you're into speed - but there's a lot to be said about a brand new car...either way, they still fall into our favorite company, Honda...

hey!
if you want to spend 18 then go on ebay and find a acura that is already done up and you can buy one that is way better for the same money and the shippin isn't going to b e a ton of money!

if you're worried about the money aspect you might want to take in consideration the insurance. i dont know where i heard this and i could easily be wrong but i've heard alot of people say something about Acura cars having one of the highest insurance premiums in its class... good luck to you..
I had a 2000 LS Integra and just traded it in for my 2001 Civic EX.... The Civc was cheaper and Definately is cheaper to drive (insurance, gas, etc.)
The Integra was a sweet car but remember that its an old body style that they killed out, why not go for a New Civic that is current and new? The Inside of my civic is alot nicer than the Integra also, it just looks more updated and contemporary.
Oh yuh, the reason I traded the Integra in was because the Insurance was waaaayy too high... I save like $1500 just by going to the civic

18k for a 2000 LS is a rip-off. For $2,000 more, for that year and that mileage, you can get a Type R for that price. (If someone sells a Type R with that many miles on it, a serious seller who knows his car wouldn't sell it for under $19k even if it was a 1998 simply because it's a limited edition and a serious seller would want a serious buyer.) F*ck this deal if the LS is what you want. You can find much better elsewhere.
The 94-01 Integra is an old style car inside and out, but even I'd take one (GS-R or Type R) just because of their capabilities... and I still like it's looks though I could see why people would be tired of it's old appearance.
For that price, year, and mileage at least get a GS-R. Do not buy that LS. It is not worth it.

I'm a girl and totally new to the car thing, trying to learn! I'm about to buy a new car(driving a 2000 Altima now) and it's down to either an Integra or a Civic...but I can't decide which and my guy won't help me out. His deal is he doesn't want my car to be faster, but that's inevitable. He and his friend both told me to get a GSR...but then he said I would burn up too much gas w/the VTEC and his friend told me to go w/an LS since it's non-VTEC...but at the same time he said he rarely hits VTEC(he has a '95 GSR)??? I'm thinking Civic because of less gas, less insurance, etc...but I want the Integra for the speed. Any advice???

when it was all said and done, my EX w/ spoiler, aluminum trim, and embroidered floormats cost around 18- so go with whichever car you like better.. both are excellant cars and you won't be sorry with whichever you get.. i personally think the civic is a much more attractive car, but i like both a lot...

i think im gonna go with the new civic.....interior is a lot more modern looking than the integra, but when u look at the positives and negatives of both, the civic in my mind comes out on top, cheaper, new car, better looking.....off to the dealer we go, 2k2 white lx on the way!
I would go for the civic. Before i bought my car i test drove a lot of integras. And when i test drove the civic i knew i would rather get the civic. Its a lot smarter buy in the long run. go for the civic.

I'd rather have the integra myself. Especially, if you can find a gsr. It's got the badass engine in it for crying out loud. I wouldn't go for a new civic. This generation isn't like the past ones. The rattles are driving me nuts and the fuel gauge has a mind of its own. Anyhow, nice car but the integra is wayyyyy better. Plus, you don't need a certified acura or honda! Warranties don't sell hondas, hondas sell hondas! You will appreciate the warranty if you get a new civic though.

INTEGRA---HIGHER INSURANCE, MORE GAS EXPENSES, NO HEADROOM IN THE BACK, OLD BODY STYLE, OLD INTERIOR, NO WARRANTY, plus 18 for a LS? what r u nuts? ls is crap, if u buy integra u buy a VTEC, not a non vtec, thats shhhiiiitttt!
CIVIC, less insurance, less gas $$, nice headroom, new body style, new interior, u got a warranty, plus its cheap!
GET THE CIVIC
OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW

Wow, I didn't know integras were such a hot stollen item humm probably just a matter of time before they study the RSX-S and it becomes like the Integra. My buddy still wants the RSX-S and I don't blame him they are really nice. Yeah my EX was not the cheapest deal people got on her but it wasn't the most expensive either.

My bro has a 97 GS-R and it eats gas like a ****. All he did was put an intake and a headers in it under the hood. He rarely takes it to VTEC... he will push it up to 4,000 RPMs (not over 5,000) and that car will be pulling hard. A few times he'll take it into VTEC. It's not the VTEC that drains the gas, it's the amount of HP the car has compared to the LS. On top of that, keeping the gears mainly under 3,000 RPMs is when a manual transmission is saving gas. The GSR must take the highest octane... 91... so no, it's not gas efficient if you mod the engine. You might want to take that into some consideration if you do anything to it under the hood or even get 17 inch rims. (Which he has, too.) My bro's thinking of dropping a turbo in his car...
Driving an LS is like driving a Civic with no acceleration. It's not a fun to drive car. It's speed compares to that of a 7th Gen Civic. Sure you can do a lot more to it than a new Civic but I wouldn't mind getting a 3rd Gen Integra myself... as long as it has a VTEC in it of course. If you want more, you pay more... and you keep paying for the more you want so remember that, too.
