Kit not painted - left white

I live in Oklahoma City and have been seeing alot of imports with body kits that are white. Now, this is the way the kit came, and they have not been painted. The rest of the car however is not white. Well, I went today to see about getting a kit, and I asked the guy who paints them, and he said he knows of one person, but doesn't usually have to refer anyone because most people want to leave it white. I went through the member's rides and didn't see anything like this. So my question is, is this something that is only going on here, or has anybody else been seeing an abundance of this like me?

Theres a good bit of cars around here like that. I think most of the people just save up enough for a kit, but then have to start saving all over again for a paint job. Which then brings the question of why even buying a kit if you can't get it painted. I think it just looks stupid.

I see that all over the place here. Primer grey, white, yellow is the worst, but all mounted on the car. Save up and get it painted for Cripes sake.

ZetaR-CivicRay is exactly correct. This "white kit" thing is not some new style that evolved. It is just people who do not have enough funds to get a paint job. As a result, the only thing they can do is either garage their kit or slap onto their car without paint. Personally, I think it looks weak. So if you are considering doing such thing I suggest you don't get a kit until you have enough money to paint.

one of my friend's friend has a white car with a white primered kit. the color matches so he kept it the way it was... you would never know that it wasn't painted without getting an inch away from it

My car is gonna be lookin like that for a couple of days because I am gettin my fiberglass octane kit installed tomorrow before i take it to a shop to get painted. My car shop guy tells me that you have to intall most kits before you paint it to give it a chance to settle plus, you need the holes drilled before painting to prevent the chances of cracks in the paint. Shops around here usually paint the kit while it is already on the car because everything is already fitted as perfectly as it could be. I think I am seein a lot of cars around here with the unpainted kits because of that. Anyway, I am not keepin my body kit primer white because it will look maad ricey on a black car in my opinion. Peaze out.

i think my car is the only one in my town that the kit is actually painted on. its awful around here, most of the time they are either not primered or primered with a color close to the body color, sometimes white. im thinking, whats the use of buying a kit if you cant afford to paint it??? do us all justice and paint your kit before you put it on. or at least dont put on a 7thgencivic sticker until you do.

Thanks for the replies, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that thought this looked stupid. Hopefully this thread will eliminate some of the other cars that look like this.

i've seen the unpainted look quite often around here also. but worse... i dont understand it but i've seen kits that have been painted a different color than the actual car. like.. i've seen the bumble bee color scheme. black car... yellow graphics. or.... black car, loads of stickers..err.. excuse me "performance decals", and yellow painted full underbody kits. wtf. i know "to each his own" but dam... get some fuggin taste.

Yah I agree with the rest....get it painted before you put it on!

I know it's tempting to just put it on first, but it's not worth looking stupid.....

I've had my kit for about 2-3 weeks just sitting there cause it's not painted yet, and it's gonna stay there in the corner until it does get painted

Getting the whole thing painted for $350 but I gotta do some other custom body work which brings my grand total up to $1900.00! Oh well I have $1500.00 so far almost there!!!
