you'll be alright, you felt the rev limiter kick in. just don't stay at high rpm's for long periods of time.

congratulations, you hit the rev limiter.

nothing permanent happened: the system cut off fuel flow to you motor, that's why the motor hesitated.

you'll be fine. your car will be fine.

Yeah you will be all right, I remember when I first hit that rev limiter I was like AHHHHH but I hardly ever hit it now, but I think a person should just do that atleast once to know what the hell happens when you hit the rev limiter I about wrecked my car and other people I know have too not expecting that. Yeah I still have no clue what happens with ABS when it activates never had it come on, my honda dealer was going to take me out and show me how ABS works but never did.

I am not a fan of ABS, but I do appreciate it under rainy conditions. Under heavy braking (and I mean press down on the brake with substantial force), you will hear a strange grinding noise. The first time you will hear it, it will totally freak you out, but don't worry. I asked the Honda dealership about it and they said that noise comes from the belt or chain that pertains to the ABS. If you want to test it yourself, just go to a vacant parking lot at night, get your car up to speed (35 or 40 mph is fine) and press hard on the brake (as if you were about to slam into someone if you didn't react immediately). Without ABS you would skid a little...with ABS, you are going to hear that weird noise and your car will come to a complete stop at a slower rate. ABS totally sucks for driving in traffic at low speeds, but it will save you in wet weather and at high speed braking. If you brake hard at 80 mph with ABS, you will maintain control of the car and slowly come to a stop. If you brake hard at 80 without ABS, you stand a chance of losing control.

I hit the rev limiter all the time in my 98 ranger, but that's b/c it didn't have a tac, and when I was trying to get on the highway I wasn't paying much attention to the speedo
