Blue or Hyper White
Cops have stopped me for having the hyper white windshild washer lights, and the officer said that they were blue. This happed to a couple of my friends too and they had to either take them off or pay a $75 fine for $15 lights. Is there any sullution to this problem other than just keeping them off? There's nothing that says that the lights are illegal, only the color blue. Is the officers opinon that they are blue final? I want to keep my lights!
Actually if they distract other drivers then they are considered illegal, i.e. underbody neons. and if you wanted to appeal it then go to your court and tell them that they aren't blue and i am sure they will take a look at them, but like I said they are illegal and they are also tacky as $hit.

anyways.. get the package that they came in and take it to the court and show them that it says Hyper White
Cops don't know ****, i got pulled over and ticketed for my neon, I talked to MY LAWYER, they are the ones you need to talk to, and we both reveiwed the Texas Law book, and found nothing about neon... i have the web page for the Law too..... if anybody wants to read Texas Law
You are not only incorrect but you sound ignorant when you say "cops don't know $hit." As we have established in other threads, laws vary from state to state, especially motor vehicle laws. I can only speak for New York State, and in New York, the windshield washer lights, in any color, are illegal. Neons are also illegal. They may not be operated while on a public road. Again, this is just New York, I am not familiar with the specifics of other states MV laws.

First off, why did you get bent at what i said.... i didn't say "QCSILVR doesn't know ****"..... i for one know that laws very from state to state... thats why i told him to get the paper work that says Hyper White and show the court... and whenever i do read any "Is this illegal..." threads i always tell people to check there state laws because they vary from state to state.
Second, i didn't mean it like "cops don't know ****", just talk to a lawyer instead..........
Sooooo QCSILVR =
Hefe, I suppose I misconstrued your comments. Yes, it is a good idea to speak with a lawyer in regard to the meaning of a specific law. Sometimes they are written in an abstract manner and an attorney often times can determine if the correct statute was used on the summons.

I got pulled over twice for having my blue ones on, except these are really blue, not hyper-white. The cop said to me that the only color's you're legally alowed on the front of the vehicle are white and amber. So either of those two colors he saidshouldn't be a problem. But as said before, check your local laws. Here in Montana, things are always messed up ..

I completely respect cops, but I dont see the problem in two teeny weeny lights... now if the guy had two spotlights, or lights that were blinking different colors (like police cars) i could understand the problem.... is it just me or do SOME officers go out of the way to ticket that...
ps..those lights are extremely tacky...

I think most cops generalize people driving cars like our as dirty no good street racers and want to find some way to give tickets to us even if we wern't really doing anything wrong. I know someone who has the really blue lights on a range rover and hes never been pulled over once. I might just be getting these ideas in my head but thats sure how it seems.

Well where I live, in California cops just wanna be a$$holes they **** people off but sometimes they are cool, other times they just **** you off by what they say. Well in my opinion I don't think hyperwhites shouldn't be illegal first off its white and if it gives off a hint of blue so be it at least they aren't blue, just think of the new BMW'S they have projectors that give off hyperblue sort of. I think it kinda bull. I havn't been pulled over for having my wiper lights on but as long as its helping you see whats up ahead it should be fine. My friend got pulled over and told the officer that they are white he didn't care, but then he told him what about the BMW'S he had no response and still gave him a ticket. He went to court to appeal it, and him that is was illegal but he then appealed it and cannot see very well at night, and won the case cuz they were white also he recorded it on tape and the cop was busted cuz he said they were blue. But anywho.
