Factory Rice SOOOO Ridiculous!!!
So I went in to get my oil change today (at 5053 miles when I was expecting to go to 7500 like some of the members here told me, but I called up my dealer and they said 1st-3750 and 2nd-7500) and I see this Red Ex Coupe...
Base Price: 16,753 or something
Suspension(lowered)-$499 I think... (they were purple looking springs I saw...)
Aem CAI-$399 LOL!!!!
Aem Fuel Cap thing-$50
Camber Kits-$300 (but when I looked at the wheels they were still pointed inwards) WTF
Get this... SI 15" Rims-$1599!!!!!! Geez, is it me or is there something wrong with that?
Exhaust-$300 (It was the tunable kind and pointed outwards... I wasnt sure if it was a full exhaust or just muffler... I should have asked)
OEM Spoiler- $699 (is it really?)
GRAND TOTAL~~~ $20,599 OMG LOL I would never pay that...
Oh yeah, Altezzas $299

I brought up a thread like that about 8 months ago...I said the exact same thing...but for some of the things you have to think about....
The peopel they buy the parts from need to make a profit, then these guys do also. So if you factor in labor, shipping, initial cost plus at least a 20% mark up then you've got hella expensive ****...the good thing about it though is it is under warantee.

Yeah about the only good thing would be that its under warranty. But if you get Honda to install for example an Intake, wouldn't it still be under warranty since Honda is the installer and if something happened? This is just what I've heard, but if it is true, then I'm sure that the sum of the installation wouldn't be half as much as what they were asking for this car...

lol. The sales people push sales packages because that means more comission for them. That would most likely be a complete package...waste of money imo. I'd much rather do most of it myself learn soemthing, and have the extra pocket change.
Hey i gottuh question..When you buy the "OEM rice" Civic from the dealer...is it street legal...like if a cop pulls you over could you be like..Ey man! i bought it like this from the dealer!....Or am i wrong
That's not as bad as what Lute Riley Honda in Dallas has. They have a black Civic Type-R Coupe. Yes, that's how it's listed on the lot. It's an EX, lowered, 17" Konig rims, can't remember which ones, CAI, Strut Bar, muffler (not full exhaust, just the muffler), aluminum dash kit, leather seats with Civic Type-R embroidered in them, and an Type-R badge on the badge. They're selling that thing for $25000+, can't remember the exact price. They also had a silver one, same stuff done to it.

nrrhgreg: yeah I was about to drive out to Lute Riley to get my oil change yesterday (which is where I bought my car). Since I live in Irving, I decided to drive out to David McDavid on hwy 183. I saw one like that too at Lute Riley when I bought it in Jan. A few of them were like that... RIP OFF!!!
