My front got hit, and now? Suggestions.
Hey,
Ok, I will to cut this short. Last Sunday, my own freaking cousin who was parked in the garabe backed up into my car. Yes, a stupid thing but oh well life goes on.
Anyway, my passenger headlight busted, a noticeable dent occurred right above the honda emblem on the hood, and the passenger side of the hood caved in (by the light) and the hood is popped up a bit on the passenger side. Also some paint was scratched. No damage was to the bumper, so no excuse to get a body kit.
I went to a body shop on Thursday, and they gave me a $850.00 estimate. That is just way too much.
To be honest, I didn't care. I lost all hope for my car and was just tired. I did all the work and now its gone - WHILE I WAS PARKED!
But, after I went to the Import Revolution Car Show and seeing MooCow and 1sickcivic's cars there, my hope in my car has been restored.
I think of just getting the Carbon Fiber hood and TYC Projectors. I was quoted a price by my local dealer that it would probaly be $600.00 ($400.00 for hood, $200.00 for TYC). Now all I would have to do is some touch up paint and I'm set.
Does this sound good?
My car is the External Blue Pearl color with White Rims and 20% Tint. If I decide with the TYC which ones do you recommend? Chrome or the Black Housings.
Any help is appreciated.

Dude, you got it all figured out already...go with the cf hood and the black housing TYC headlights

I've seen a EBP civic around my neighborhood with that setup plus the black TYC tails and gunmetal rims...it's bitchin'
I think it would look good w/ your white rims too...though you might consider powder-coating them a darker shade.
Just a question: Is your cousin gonna pay? His insurance?

Hey,
Thanks for the response. Yeah I am leaning towards the black housing TYC, I think it will go well with the overall color of the car with it being tinted and all also adding in the the CF hood.
My cousin will be paying all the costs, he just told me to look around. I was with him for the $850.00 estimate, and he was willing to pay for it right then. But using this method its close to $200.00 cheaper, and I get to have an overall better look for my car.
Just needed some input before I decided.

That sucks that your car got hit, espically by your cousin, but I guess its better than some hit and run and then having to pay for it out of your pocket. But hey in the end its better for you man, once again a car gets hit and ends up all the better.
Good Luck man, and we wanna see pictures when your done too.

Yeah its cool my cousin is paying for it, but he *did* hit my PARKED car. Thats the least he can do.
The dude wasn't in a rush or anything, he opened the garage, got in his car and proceeded to dent my car. Obviously not on purpose, but his brian must've not been equipped with VTEC.
Oh well, it happens.
I'll probaly post pics of the damage later, even though it will be hard to tell because you have to see it in person to justify the damage.
I will definetly post pictures when the new parts come in, hopefully by next week or so.

If you need any replacement stock parts, check out this site...
www.discountautopartsonline.com
You'll have to search under 2001 civic (fyi if you have a 2002).
