I doubt it would be for any specific Honda, but it looks like the emblem they used up until the early 1990's

Like I said, it isn't for a specific one. It's probably the same for like 20 different models. It's the same one they used for the Accord, the Civic, the Odyssey, the CRX, etc.

I have the badge off of an 88 Accord and it does not have clips like that so you can rule that one out

Exactly. I searched other Honda emblems new and old none of them have the clips on the side. This one is a real mystery.

holy hell I think I found it.

ebay listing (ended) for an emblem set for a 1980-1983 civic has a similar mounting. I'd say it's safe to say it's the same one.
