How does NOS take a toll on our engines?

Hey, i was lookign into NOS as teh ultimate performance upgrade for my car...
any one with nos already.. how do you feel about it?
whats a safe "shot" to use for a nos-newbie liek myself
also whats a good brand to use NX NOS or the many others...
and what do you think the effects are on our engines??? long term and short term..
i mean i want my car to last a while...

It pushes the engine beyond the engine's capability... thus the extra wear... at least that's how I can simplify it. If anyone can do better, go ahead.

i ould feel it coming to lol


anyways i have had nitrous on my civic for a litte under a year with zero probs and i have had nitrous on my rsx-s for about3 days with zero probs

The standard shot for our cars is 50 but some go to 80 and it's uncommon. The engine is not too badly harmed at all by occasional use... when you shoot several times a day every day then your engine and internal parts will die much sooner. You can also decide to make it kick in when flooring the gas or by switch. NX had very high gains when dyno'd, you approx. get double torque.

figured NOS wouldnt take up as much as NITROUS on the message board...
any ways.. whats a safe amount to use for normal use?

a 50 shot will do alright as long as u dont shot it alot. pinkytoe is running a custom 80 shot. he hasnt had anyproblems that i know of yet
