Cruise Control and Netural, Dont try

So I was on the highway driving home, and I decided to see what would happen if I have the car in nutral, and put cruise control on. Bad move. The rpm's shot up to 7 g's, and redlined it. Dont try that at home kids

Really??? I have a 2k2 and if you just tap the clutch with the cruise on it disengages, maybe you need to have the dealer check it out.

haha I tried that like the second day I had the car it's crazy.. Actually if you are in a gear and you tap the clutch it should disengage, however ify ou are in neutral and you set it then it does exactly what you said.

I was in nutral when I enguaged it. But yes, to stop it, I did press the clutch. Couldnt take the red lining

I never use my cruise control. I feel like I'm out of control with it on. Got a question about it though- at how low a speed can you hit the "resume" button and have the catr get up to about 70-80 mph? What about shifting? Anyone know?

you can be in "cruise control" in whatever gear (dont know about first)......but you can push accel and get it up to redline for the 5speeds........if you need to shift, when you push in the clutch to go up to the next gear it disengages. therefore you would have to push the button again to contiue "cruising"

Well, I have an auto, and it won't let you "resume" until you're over 30mph I think. I even put it on cruise and decelerated once to see how low it would go. Cruise turned off at 20mph.

LOL.

I set my cruise control when I was in 2nd gear at 8000rpms just to see if it would work. Yup... sure did. cruisin along, 8000rpms about 55mph or so....hehe. Yeah, i shut it off right away, but it works. Haven't got the ***** to try it at 9000rpm.....
