COPS SUCK $#@!$
I know uve heard many stories about getting pulled over. Well heres another. Okay today i was just cruising didnt think i was going fast till i saw the lil facken motorcycle cop pull out of some hidden area. So my first thaught in my head was too make a quick turn and lose him. So i make a quick right and turn off my car with my hazards on and he still pulls me over. Hes like you were speeding going 55 in a 40. So i gave him some BS story about how i downshifted, and it shot my RPMS up..blah. He baught it and still wrote me up. than i ask to look at his LASER GUN, and it shows 54. So i told him, u wrote me down for 55 when it says 54. Hes like is it goingto make a difference i was like actually yes it is. Hes then like ill be a nice guy and change it. I was like ohh ya thank u with a BIG FAKE SMILE. Is there anyway i can get out of this u think?I probably cant, but hey its worth the TRY....
Not really, if you hadnt told him to change it and had a witness in the car the citation would be null because you cant get cited for something u didnt do (which in this case is go 55 because u were only going 54) the judge would have to dismiss the ticket.
lol, lets bash on the cops because they are doing their job. Next time your going 15 over, take responsibility for your actions. I know your pissed off, but if its anyones fault, its yours.
So I know most people have tested their top speeds and all but i wonder who out there got caught while doing it and what they had to pay. I got busted once about 3 years ago going 80 in a 50 and had to pay $125. Anyone else?
First, forget the thing with the witnesses; it won't really get you anywhere. 02Carbon will confirm this--the court does not care if the Pope was your witness. The police officer is the accuser and that's how it works, period. The court is not even required, and most of the time does not hear a witness on your behalf as it is technicially not a criminal proceeding. I don't let anyone see my radar/laser gun, for both my safety and the motorists, it's mounted in my car and I am not comfortable with taking someone out of the car and having them lean into a police car to read the screen; not only are we not required to do it, we're not allowed, so I'm guessing it is different in your jurisdiction. If it said 54 and he wrote you at 55, I guess you technicially have something to argue; but you shouldn't assume that the summons is going to become null. Summonses are multipart and he probably changed it on all the other copies. It falls in the same boat as if he wrote it down as a brown car when you had a blue one, or copied the registration wrong, etc., all of that can be ammended to in court.
Why would you try and lose the officer? I know when I spot a potential customer, I've noted some things automatically--color of the vehicle, make/model/description, license plate, and the number of occupants. If the person outruns me, I simply press a button and give the description of the vehicle which is heard by all cars in my precinct and the adjoining one. Trying to lose a cop is never a good idea.
You will be in good shape if you have a perfect record; the court will be more than pleased to deal with you--you might be able to plea it down to an equipment violation or something. Either way, you'd be better off pleading not guilty; you never know.
I love these in car computers; I can respond and give advice right from inside the car.
Edited for spelling.

Excuse me if I sound stupid, but isn't it your fault? What's the deal here? You went above the speed limit, you got caught. No sense in blaming the enforcers of the laws that you violated.
I mean, if there was some circumstantial evidence then I'de get pissed too. I can't see any though SLiCKGeeK.

I know, I'm just pissed off at SLiCKGeeK 'cause of a little fight we had earlier. I'll calm down. Thread title should be changed though. All that does is make cops mad.
