There are at least 6 different alternates for SSM, you have to add the plant code to get a valid code. A lot of shops can get a formula by using the VIN number. Or have it scanned.

SSM = silver satin metallic

the plant code is a letter on the bottom right hand corner of the sticker the paint code is on. Its also the 11th character in your VIN number. All the body shop guy had to do was pick up a paint book and he would've seen the alternates.....actually in thinking about it, its not just a simple add to the NH623M code, it adds another number BASED on that plant code. tell your body guy to open his DuPont book and it'll be clear as day.
