To all with INTAKE

I just installed my intake today and i dont HEAR to much noise over factory. Could something be wrong? and where does the bottom of your intake sit?

I have a manual and it is a AEM cai.

yes i have but still not to loud

one more question that rubber piece that connects the pipes..mine is connected really low right by the filter..looking at pics in the rides section and seeing pimp dakota's car his black rubber piece is connected fairly higher, almost close to the AEM sticker..would this matter?

It should make some serious noise at WOT...If you're granny clutching, you won't hear much except for a light hiss as you accelerate in the low rpm's. You won't hear that with the windows up though. And like Wanger said it should hiss real good when you shut it off. My car is an LX and the connection is low down by the filter also. It's different in the EX's. I know because I installed my intake and a friend of mine's on his EX.

BTW, if you have exhaust, the intake won't be as loud either, because most of the sound will be balanced out by the exhaust.

Yea, you aren't going to notice it unless you let the rpms go up. Go out and give her some hay, you'll hear it, trust me!

at around 2rpms it should grumble, and gunning it passed 4-7rpms it should roar... i notice a big difference!

is blasting it and taking it to high RPM's bad for the engine? where do you guys usually shift?

I first had a AEM CAI and though it wasn't loud either. Now I have an Injen SRI and it's much louder.

injen sri does give louder sound than the aem.. i suggest going injen for the civic... dont go cai... not much horse ponie increase...
