why the rsx type-s motor?

ok, by now, everyone seen the new 2k2 si with the rsx type-s motor, k20a3 to a k20a2, which has 200 hp and 142 lbs of torque

why?

why not the new cr-v(k24) motor with k20a2 head? get more torque, 162 lbs, and same head as the k20a3, 160 hps,
but if combined with k20a2 head and k24 block, couldnt u get 200 hps with 162 lbs of torque that also handle more psi??? correct me if im wrong and explain. thanx!!!

Good question, Joe...

My guess is that maybe people are just forgetting about the CR-V K block? Who knows... I'm sure you could find the engine in a junkyard.

When i think about the B series engines, I don't EVER remember someone throwing the B20 block in a GS-R or whatever.

EDIT: I guess it's an option... but the CR-V's engine has what aftermarket support?

would you buy a rsx type-s if a civic has more hp and lighter than a rsx type-s?

ya probably has something to do with the aftermarket parts available for the rsx type s engine rather than the crv

I also think it has something to do with the CRV being 4WD or RWD. That tranny will NOT work in the Si.

thats a very good point, Honda wouldnt do that, cause it would seriously hurt the sales on the Type S

ya I was gonna note the aftermarket for the rsx-s engine rather than the crv's. The potential is there, but with addon's the rsx-s's engine could have far better performance

you havent heard of a b20 with b16 head? everyone is doing that now, b4 it was b18 ls block and b16 head, now everyone wants a motor that can handle more psi so they get a bigger motor, look at steph papadakis, he got the h-22, 2.2 liter prelude! now the new cr-v k24 is 2.4, more torque than the rsx k20a2 block which has only 142 torque. i think people are resonding without actually reading the actual post, im talking about hybrid!!! no oem manufactured car. HYBRID!!! as for the tranny, damn, is there anyway to bypass or convert?

Did you read the honda tunning mag on that article,.....
They said its a no-go....stick w/ the k20a2.......cause if you stuck the k24 block underneath, the rods are longer and the redline would be @ like 6,500 or so....they said if you brought the rpms up to the normal redline of the k20a2.....you had better kiss your *** goodbye.
BOOM!!!!.
somone correct me if I'm wrong.
